The Movie:

After the success of last year's Re-Animator spoof (aptly titled Re-Penetrator, it had to go without saying that the Burning Angel team would reunite with director Douglas Sakman for a follow up – and kids, that time has come with the release of this latest horror-porno parody, The XXXorcist.

If you've seen The Exorcist (and if you haven't, you suck) then you'll already know the basic premise of this forty-five minute long gorno. A woman named Regan MacFeel (Joanna Angel) is possessed by a demon and so her mother (Kylee Kross) calls in an exorcist named Father Merkin (Tommy Pistol) to take care of the problem. Merkin realizes early on that the only way that he can save poor Regan is to fuck the evil out of her and so her gets started. As he bangs away at her from a few different positions she spews green goop all over him and curses at him, just as Linda Blair did in The Exorcist. In an interesting twist, however, Mrs. MacFeel soon becomes possessed as well and joins in on the fun, meaning that Father Merkin will, as the back cover states, have to 'fight for his life with his cock.'

So we've got oral, vaginal, and anal action between Tommy and Joanna and then some pretend mother on daughter fun in here as well later on. We've got religiously themed sex toys, Pistol yammering away using various Catholic rites while hammering Joanna in the ass. It's all completely insane and about as offensive as a porno movie should ever get. That being said, if you're got a sense of humor it's hard not to get into the fun. These kids are obviously having a good time yukking it up and unless you're a hardcore Catholic you shouldn't find yourself getting too worked up over any of this – it is a joke. If you are a hardcore Catholic, well, watching porno is a sin so get thee to the confession booth a.s.a.p..

Those looking for truly erotic, wankable porno will be disappointed. While Joanna and Kylee are both very attractive girls it's hard to stay hard when they're covered in green slime and all that. So with that in mind, this movie will probably not appeal to the raincoat crowd looking to get off. Burning Angel has got plenty of other, sexier, projects out there that fit that bill just perfectly. This release is more geared towards the cult or horror movie fan who has a sense of humor and a taste for the absurd.

The effect are well done and the make up works, but the real reason to check this out is actually for Tommy Pistol's performance. The man is simply hilarious in his part and as good as Joanna and Kylee area, he does steal the show here.

The DVD

Video:

The 1.33.1 fullframe transfer does a pretty good job of bringing the movie to your home theater. The green lighting hues that cover pretty much everything in the movie look nice, as does the fake puke (I know, that sounds weird). Other colors are very well defined and don't bleed into the other colors on the screen at all, which is surprising for a low budget digital video production. The skin tones look pretty accurate (or, in the case of Joanna's possessed character, as natural as they're supposed to look – she's quite sickly looking but it's on purpose), the black levels stay strong from start to finish and don't break up at all, and there are no problems to speak of in relation to mpeg compression artifacts or edge enhancement.

Sound:

The Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround track is quite sufficient. The dialogue comes through cleanly and clearly as do all of the moans and groans. The soundtrack is mixed in properly at a respectable level so as not to overshadow the speaking parts when they do occur. Bass response is nice and lively and overall, for a porno movie, this is a better than average effort.

Extras:

Burning Angel has given The XXXorcist the two disc deluxe treatment and just loaded this bitch up with extra features. The first disc starts off with a trio of alternate endings for the main feature: Sad, Happy, and Fucked Up. Going into too much detail would spoil them, and we don't want that, but let it suffice to say that each one is worth checking out for various reasons and you've got to give Pistol credit for doing all his own stunts in the Sad ending, as rolling down those cinematically historical steps could not have been easy.

Also included on the first disc four, count'em four, separate commentary tracks. Joanna Angle provides the first track and she comes across as a sweetheart as always, discussing the finer points of getting DP's by religiously themed sex toys while sporting some fairly heavy make up. Her sense of humor is always welcome and she actually manages to provide a pretty informative discussion. Tommy Pistol grabs the mic for the second track, and he's just as funny here as you'd expect him to be based on his performance. He talks about some of the stunts and what it was like having to perform under these circumstances. Douglas Sakman, the director, and Pat Homily, the director of photography, provide the third track and it's obviously the most technical of the four. They talk about how certain shots and effects were done as well as some of the difficulties that they ran into while working on the project. Good stuff. The last track features Cock Kent and Big Tasty and it's another interesting track though by the time you get to it you could very well be suffering from commentary track overkill. Better too much than not enough, right?

The main extra feature on the second disc is a seventy-five minute documentary on the making of the movie entitled Into The Behind: Behind The Scenes Of The XXXorcist. This is a pretty in-depth look at how the project was put together and we get a good look behind the scenes of the movie. There's a lot of emphasis put on the make up and special effects used in the movie and the stunts that Pistol was responsible for. Of course, we also get some insight into how the sex scenes that make up the bulk of the movie were blocked and coordinated. There was more to this than just Pistol simply pumping Joanna's evil, evil ass and here we learn how and why it was all done the way that it was done.

There are a few more shorter featurettes to dig on here as well, starting with roughly seven minutes worth of script reading and rehearsal footage. It's kind of amusing to see the three main performers just kicking back and relaxing while going over their lines in contrast to the rather manic performances we get from them in the movie itself. An eleven-minute look at the scoring of the film is up next, followed by an amusing twenty-minute sit down chat with Tommy Pistol. This is actually pretty interesting as he talks a little bit about his off camera life as well as what he does in front of the camera. A pair of Easter Eggs are here, as are trailers for a few other Burning Angel products and a still gallery. All in all, it's a pretty fantastic selection of supplements.

Final Thoughts:

The XXXorcist isn't going to be for all tastes. You can't pull it while watching this one (or if you can, you need help) but the movie is compelling. It's completely twisted, utterly hilarious, and Burning Angel has stacked the disc with plenty of quality extra features. If you dug Re-Penetrator or dig the whole 'gorno' thing, consider this one highly recommended. Just make sure you bring your sense of humor with you.
