Extra's: The standard package of Vivid extras applied her with five unrelated bonus scenes being what many of you will enjoy the most (they appeared to be edited for those who care). Lexa and Vince Vouyer in Babylon, Sky and Krystal Steal from Dumb Blonde, Mercedez and Evan Stone in Lay Me Down, Inari Vachs and Janine in The Secretary, and Raylene and Mark Davis in Zoom were all up for those keeping track. I liked the 9.5 minute long Behind the Scenes best (it sounded like Sun was manning the camera but the sound was fucked up and the picture grainy so I won't state that definitively). The majority of the feature was a few interviews with the ladies, minimal clips from the movie tossed in for good measure). There were also two photogalleries, a text biography for Savanna Samson, and trailers to Dinner Party, Sexy Young Thing, How Far Will You Go?, and Bankable; spam (including a commercial at the front of the DVD), and a true double sided DVD cover.

Audio/Video Quality: Colors was presented in the original 1.85:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Bryan Xin for Vivid Entertainment. Some of the scenes were grainy and the composition of many camera shots were somewhat lacking at times, almost as if the director was unsure about which way to tackle some of the women in order to make them look their best. The lighting contributed to this issue and the editing was worse then I've ever seen on his work in the past; not a good thing when liberal amounts of slow motion are used in a movie. Still, there were flashes of near brilliance when the edits were not so brazen, proving that while he still has a long way to go to leave his gonzo, Wal-Mart lighting days behind him, he has the kind of potential that many of his peers strive to project themselves, often falling far short of the mark. In all then, it averaged out to look okay but nothing like the boxcover quotes would lead you to believe; making me wonder if they were included in an effort to instill the idea of uniqueness more than anything else. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English, with the score wildly varying in terms of quality, usually sounding generic and intrusive, though a few bits were not bad. The vocals were minimal, serving to weaken the effort for me more than a little bit, but I have noticed a trend by some directors to go this route and while it rarely works; I can't say that they are all failed efforts.

Body of Review: Bryan Xin has been bouncing around with different projects over the years, working for several companies instead of simply staying put. His latest titles come from Vivid Entertainment and while he seems to be figuring out exactly what style he wants to present to the public, he has dabbled enough to know what works for a given audience. His most recent release is Colors, a spotlight on hotty Savanna Samson that had five vignettes with her in three of them. For fans then, this is a treasure trove to appreciate, even if you find some of the scenes lacking in heat. The idea was to use sets of specific colors to invoke a mood, though I didn't really see any substantial difference in how the ladies interacted with their partners, but even failed experiments help point creative types in new directions so I cut them some slack. Thankfully, there was some quality going on with the movie too, albeit not as much as there should have been. If you're still interested, there were some condoms used but the sex was performed well in several scenes so here's a look at them by cast and action if you are still interested:

Scene One: Red: Savanna Samson, the contract gal on the front DVD cover, was up first as she rubbed a red tinted sex toy all over her body while making eye contact with the camera in a seductive manner. Her red camisole, pierced nipples, and black stockings gave her that MILF-look so many of us favor, though the slow motion masturbation was not my favorite way to use this award winning gal. Scene Two: Black: Naomi, looking leaner than ever before, was up next in a black outfit that displayed what was left of her curves in a black living room set up. She has been something of an overnight sensation this year, quickly learning how to best use her ample ass to full effect, though getting a bit mechanical in some of her most recently shot scenes. The music was definitely an acquired taste here but she seemed lost in her own little world as she masturbated and that gave me pause that she was not a fluke in terms of heated work, eventually settling in on the black couch to take care of studly Tommy Gunn and Marcos Leon on. She glistened with sweat before they came into the picture, dropping to her knees to thrill them with her oral skills (not even waiting for them to lose their pants); showing them that she was better than ever orally. She displayed a sense of urgency that is often missing in porn, deepthroating them and taking turns aggressively riding their cocks in numerous positions. The music was actually pretty good this time, not going over the top as the previous scenes had done, and catering to the age dynamic the two ladies were honing in on. Savanna was the dominant partner of the two but Faith got in some seriously warm licks of her own as the two did a lot of oral on each other. The red dildo was back and the ladies used it on each other, providing some penetration, even if not the kind most of us would prefer. I would have licked it clean myself if given the chance but the scene seemed to lack any real diversity in action so your own mileage may vary.

Scene Four: Blue: Kaiya Lynn, the only Asian gal of the cast, was up next in a room using a blue theme. Her lingerie was appealing but not as much as her masturbatory technique since she came across as trying to please herself more than the camera (unlike some of the other ladies). I admit that her looks are best brought forth by talented directors like Paul Thomas so I cut Bryan some slack here but you can only do that so much before you realize how limited his skills are by comparison. The tease and solo action led to her doing tattooed Derrick Pierce; initially giving him a coy hummer but riding him fairly well when that came up too. I liked watching her ass ripple as he poked her and she gave off a nice performing vibe but there did not seem to be much chemistry between the two. Like a fine wine, she gets better with time but this was a weak scene to end the movie on as far as I was concerned, nearly causing the rating to drop a notch. It ended with another abdominal pop shot for those who care.

Summary: Colors by director Bryan Xin for Vivid Entertainment might have been a mixed bag of tricks but I liked it just enough to rate it as Recommended thanks to the casting, the amount of fuck for the buck, and the attempt at providing something different. The director tried to do something that he couldn't quite pull off but showed an effort to do something interesting, making Colors worthy of your time and money if you are a fan of Savanna Samson. Naomi was the highlight for me but all of the women had something to appreciate so check it out and you'll see what I mean.
