Extra's: The best extra was the 24.5 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Nate Liquor. There were interviews, some nudity and sex, and a lot of material focusing on the photoshoots by skilled pornographer Mike Quasar. One of the good things about the feature was that it proved Courtney took an active role in the production (unlike others at the company and in the business who take the credit for the work of people like Mike). Mike was as funny as ever, adding some entertainment value to the extra that some people other than myself seem to have noticed over the years. There was also a photogallery and trailers to shows like Face Invaders, Blow Me Sandwich 9, Ass Cleavage 8, Who's Your Daddy 9, Girlvana 2, Cum Hungry Leave Full 2, and Grand Theft Anal 9; with a true double sided DVD cover and cardboard slipcase as well.

Audio/Video Quality: Pussy Cats was presented in a 1.85:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color presentation as shot by talented cameraman Mike Quasar under direction by the lovely director Courtney Cummz for Zero Tolerance. The lighting was very good, limiting the grain and video noise while providing accurate fleshtones on the cast. The picture wasn't always perfect but the composition of the shots was as solid as I remember Mike providing in the past, always enhancing the look of the ladies in their scenes substantially. The fleshtones were accurate and in technical terms, some significant care was applied to the production. There were no compression artifacts observed and the overall visual quality was very good, as expected. The audio registered on my receiver as 2.0 Dolby Digital but the vocals varied a fair amount in terms of loudness and there wasn't any music getting in the way of most scenes this time. I didn't notice anything that would give your home theatres a work out but the audio properties did not detract from the experience. Fans of Spanish can listen to the secondary audio track in that language too; I found it to be an okay dub though only spot checked it to make sure it existed (but it was funny to goof on with a few friends).

Body of Review: Courtney Cummz is the talented contract performer working for Zero Tolerance that has taken the plunge and decided to work on both sides of the camera. Using the skills of fellow director Mike Quasar (like others at the company do), her sophomore effort, Pussy Cats, is now available to the public. Having cut her directing teeth on Face Invaders, Courtney seemed to fill her role with more confidence this time, adjusting some of the industry standard action of lesbian scenes to suit her own tastes. The result is a solid collection of lesbian scenes that really worked in most cases, some achieving the highest levels of heat due to the chemistry observed between the ladies. If you're still interested in the movie, here's a brief breakdown of the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Lexi Love and Liv Wylder, both gals wearing skimpy lingerie outfits as they playfully kissed and teased one another on a large bed, were up first in a very heated scene showing a lot of chemistry. The camera slowly revolved around the pair and they thankfully left their clothing on as they embraced during the initial portions of the scene. I know that most directors prefer to have the clothing on the floor within about a minute of the start of the scene but this worked so much better for me. I know porn is all about the fantasy aspect of the action but a little creativity like this goes a long way to differentiating the title from other, more generically made titles (and in a positive manner at that). The clothing came off slowly, adding to the build up of the heat, as each eventually went down on the other and diddled their partner with the kind of stroking us lesbians truly enjoy (yeah, you read it right, I'm a lesbian trapped in a man's body). A lengthy 69, some sexy rubbing, and even a bit of a watery orgasm all added to the fun, making this a first class opener for the movie. Whew!

Scene Two: Tory Lane and Alektra Blue, two darker haired cuties in feminine attire that enhanced their looks (Alektra was not in the same outfit as she wore on the right hand side of the front cover though), were up next as they continued the interpersonal antics on a large leopard print couch on a well lit set. I've seen both of them in a wide array of movies where they shined even when trapped in a formula so the slower playfulness they were allowed to show made this a fine companion scene to the opener of the show. While they did get undressed faster and even got really aggressive sooner, they still managed to come across like they were into one another, simply displaying it in a manner they embraced more readily. The kissing was continuous and the understated camera work really added something over the flat lighting I tend to prefer (the textures adding depth and detail that I hope will look even better with the company decides to take the next step with high definition formats). Tory was the leader of the two in terms of boldness and her rimming was appreciated as much by me as Alektra. There was some foot play for fans but not that much to turn off those of us not into it (Courtney told me during the recent 2007 AEE Show that she and many of her fans were into that kind of thing) and this was another scene that did not need obnoxious toys getting in the way of the fun like so many lipstick lesbian flicks tend to rely on. Yow!

Scene Three: Kelly "Fuckin" Wells, one of the extreme queens of porn, and lean brunette Veronica Jett, were up next in a darkened jell cell scene. Their standard issue bra and panties were a marked step in a new direction for the movie but the mattress on the floor and plain setting allowed them to focus exclusively on themselves and their pleasure, acting slightly rough towards each other in order to prove they were nasty. They ate each other and fingered themselves with taste testing (PTM and ATM) frequently, with Veronica taking charge midway through the scene. The interaction added elements of slapping and harder treatment of the gals, though each liked it from their responses displayed. It was closer to some of the lesbian scenes I've seen from them and others in the past but still tempered by the dynamic running throughout the movie, keeping it fresh, if not quite as good as some of the other bits here.

Scene Four: Holly Wellin and Elena Rivera, were up next in a scenario built around a strip club. The smoking was more prominent than the striptease, probably because the pole looked like it was barely standing erect, but the footage was enticing nonetheless with the lingerie clad ladies taking on the roles of stripper and voyeur. The two ladies eventually making it to the stage was fun to watch, if a bit clumsy in how it was approached. The sensual nature of the action was much like the earlier scenes of the movie and it really worked for me as a result. They followed many of the same principles laid out by the previous scenes in how they ate each other out and took their time with the action. The kissing provided some sustained heat and the gals appeared to be having as much fun as any of the other pairings in the movie. With decent chemistry and active enjoyment by both the standard of the day, they ended the action with more lip locking for fans to get off on, ending another solid bit of action.

Scene Five: Charlotte Stokely, one of the queens of alt-porn, was up next with brunette Smoking Mary Jane, with the gals made up much like the previous ladies in pin up fashion (the hairstyles coming out of the 1940's). I liked their all natural bodies intertwined with one another and aside from the big tattoo on Mary's upper leg, she proved to fit right in with Charlotte's seductive mannerisms. They seemed at home teasing one another and if any of the others savored eating pussy as much as these two, I'd be surprised to hear it from their lips. The spanking and role playing were done very girlishly and fans of foot fetish will find a lot to like this time too. I swear I heard Mike coaxing them at one point (around 93 minutes, 49 seconds into the movie) but they really didn't appear to need any encouragement from what I saw taking place. The emphasis on cunnilingus was apparent and like the other scenes, it was a heated pairing full of replay value that enhanced an already good show.

Scene Six: Courtney Cummz, the hotty director showcased on the left hand side of the front cover, and relative newcomer Satine Phoenix, were up last in a bathroom that seemed uniquely suited for this kind of lesbian action. Courtney was very sexually aggressive and Satine followed her lead as ordered, both getting hot & sweaty with some oral and rough sex before dropping into the warm water of the tub. The two approached the scene with a kind of sexual tension that showed they weren't limited by anything, or anyone, as they worked each other over roughly. Courtney looked fantastic but her winning appeal was far from based on great looks alone since she was on fire throughout the scene, proving that she saved the best scene for last (though it started on a very high note too). The rimming and other oral play replaced most of the kissing that the other scenes provided, the gals fingering more aggressively during the movie too. In all then, it provided awesome heat and strokability, perhaps enough to convince the haters that all lesbian sex is not alike. Yum!

Summary: Pussy Cats by the lovely director Courtney Cummz for Zero Tolerance (with the help of Mike Quasar of course) was one of those times when the elements combined just right to make the title worthy of being Highly Recommended. The ladies were premium pussy, the action was far better than usual, the replay and strokability were greatly enhanced by the technical values (kudos on using an anamorphic widescreen process), and the extras sure didn't hurt either. In short, Pussy Cats was one of the best sophomore efforts by a performer/director that I can recall in a very long time, marking it on my short list for titles to direct friends into checking out. I can't wait to see what the lovely lass comes up with next given the quality displayed here; great job!
