Extra's: The extras began with the typical offering of five unrelated bonus scenes from the company vaults including short bits from Debbie Does Iowa, Alphabet, Blue Light Project, Burnt Fury, and Double Jeopardy. This was followed by the usual photogallery and text biography for contract gal Cassidey, four trailers, some spam, and my favorite; a 14:16 minute long Behind the Scenes feature. The first meaty offering of the BTS was the photoshoot with Paulina James, followed by an interview with Aline (the cover credited her as Kaline), PT directing the cast, and some random bits of fun fluff. As always, there was a second side to the front cover but as with most recent Vivid offerings, it was only a set of four covers to other titles instead of more artwork.

Audio/Video Quality: I Love My Ass was presented in an anamorphic widescreen 1.78:1 ratio offering as shot by director Paul Thomas for Vivid Entertainment. Like some of his more noteworthy titles of late, this one as shot in HD, though presented in the SD format (for now) as shot in 1080i to provide a lot of resolution supporting some of the effects (making it look more like a real movie than just a porno). The lighting was reasonably well handled (with minor exceptions in a few of the scenes that had less lighting or conversely, too much lighting), limiting the grain, video noise, and other distracting flaws seen all too often in porn these days; each vignette appearing to be shot nicely by talented cameraman Ralph Parfait. The composition of the camera angles and lighting were not always optimal this time, the camera spending too little time in the first scene and too long on some of the later establishing shots. The fleshtones were accurate this time and the DVD mastering was well done, making it look pretty solid in terms of visual quality (though perhaps the compression ratio was set too high as the bitrate was averaging about 4.5 Mbps). The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital offering (at 192 Kbps) with the vocals sounding flat and the music pretty decent. For some reason, the levels were mixed lower than usual but aside from the added background noise from doing so; the dynamic range was average and the separation of the vocal tracks nonexistent.

Body of Review: Paul Thomas has been around in porn for so long that he needs no introduction. Love or hate his work for Vivid Entertainment, he is one of those icons that you hear a lot about due to the number of big budget projects he works on at the company but some of his best titles are the smaller, more intimate looks at human sexuality. His latest such project is I Love My Ass, a set of four vignettes where ass play (though not always anal sex) was prominently displayed in tease before the partners went at each other using some chemistry and energy, providing the kind of scene the company has been shooting for more of late. The cover said it like this: "If you've got it, stick it out, bend it over, and spread it good. Paul Thomas presents I Love My Ass, a tale of tail...with six hot chicks who love their ass. Watch them discuss it. Show it off. Play with it. And then do two scorching anals and four three-ways with it. You'll love their ass too..." If that sounds good to you too, here is a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were worn by the men:

Scene One: Lost & Found: Cassidy, the cutie on the front cover, was up first in a scene with blonde Kaline and muscular Christian, in the warehouse office after closing time. For that and the decent extras, I rated the DVD as Recommended though your mileage may vary if you prefer seeing circus act, degrading sex that isn't part of Vivid's niche. In short, I Love My Ass was a light hearted tribute to that curvy female body part that draws our attention so readily and fans of Cassidey will certainly want to pick up their own copy due to the replay value she provided for them.
