Extra's: The best extra was the 19:16 minute bonus scene between Justine Joli and Ariel X as the pair made out on a couch, slowly stripping before showing the world just how much expertise they have in the field. Justine went down on her friend first, savoring the giving of pleasure as much as Ariel was into receiving it. I would have enjoyed more foreplay but to many out there, cunnilingus is foreplay so your mileage may vary. Audio/Video Quality: Tristan Taormino's Expert Guide to Oral Sex: Cunnilingus was presented in a crisp anamorphically enhanced widescreen color with an aspect ratio of 1.77:1 as shot by director Tristan Taormino for Vivid under her Smart Ass Productions. The lighting was flat and not too harsh with Tristan essentially lecturing a group of everyday looking types in a large living room. The sex scenes were covered from a few angles, capturing the women looking their best as the lighting maintained the slightly saturated but pleasant look. There was some minor grain but nothing much and the framing of both sections of the show were better than expected. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English using the standard 192 Kbps format as expected. The two sections of the show had clear vocals and some light, generic guitar based music though little separation and the dynamic range was not very varied.

Body of Review: Tristan Taormino is one of the most well rounded ladies involved in making adult entertainment these days. Aside from her varied academic accomplishments and awards for her numerous writings, she has also made a handful of movies for some of the biggest companies in porn, now working for Vivid under her Smart Ass Productions label. Earlier this year, she impressed me with her talk about her educational series that started with Tristan Taormino's Expert Guide To Anal Sex while we were at the 2007 AEE Show and my first impression was that she was just kidding me and offering me some convention fun for a soirée up in her hotel room. Sadly, this was not the case and fetching Tristan did not party with me or even send over some of the contract gals like Lanny Barby to make my stay better but the good news was that Vivid was seriously entering the educational market with something more interesting than the dry, clinical tapes most sex counselors offer. The latest project by the lady is also similar to the Nina Hartley Guide Series with Tristan Taormino's Expert Guide to Oral Sex: Cunnilingus; the second volume of the series where people can learn about getting a lady off orally. The show started off with a short lecture using a large drawing of a pussy, explaining the details for those of you that haven't seen a live one since birth. The last section starred Cindy Crawford (the porn performer, not the super model) and Jack Lawrence. This section lasted the longest of all three and repeated the dynamic from the last bit but with some more advanced methods of getting the gal off. Cindy sure seemed to approve of what was taking place and while the basics were once again discussed, the majority of the action was more of the same (fun to watch but even more fun to practice for both parties). As with the previous outing in the series, the ability to watch the sex without any instructional vocals was easy enough, the DVD even have a direct access feature on the main menu for it.

Summary: Tristan Taormino's Expert Guide to Oral Sex: Cunnilingus by director Tristan Taormino for Vivid was another effort worth a rating of Recommended for what it was trying to provide and how well it did just that. I would have liked a longer series of scenes where more performers practiced what was taught and the extras definitely needed more substance to them (why not add in some previous scenes where the cunnilingus learned was practiced?) but the show looked nice and offered up some invaluable advice that could conceivably assist you in becoming a better partner in bed. If that isn't worth a lot more than the cost of a DVD, nothing is since few skills will get you further with ladies that don't involve cash or illegal substances no matter what you may have read in Cosmo. In short then, Tristan Taormino's Expert Guide to Oral Sex: Cunnilingus, like Tristan Taormino's Expert Guide to Anal Sex before it, was a nice addition to the growing library of quality of Vivid Ed products so check it out and see what the buzz is all about.
