Audio/Video Quality: My First Porn 8 was presented in 1.77:1 anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Robby D. for release by Digital Playground. The lighting was solid here as expected and that meant that the limited amounts of grain and other visual elements used to lend a sense of texture were minimal. It took me awhile to notice it but there seemed to be a variation in styles as to how the scenes were shot and edited, some of the scenes using a lot more close ups while others relying heavily on slower and pulled back medium shots. I like a change of pace though some of it still struck me as a work in progress at times, usually not getting in the way of the heat and at other times enhancing it somewhat. The composition of the shots and the editing enhanced the look of the ladies more than a little bit too, proving what this critic has to say about the production team led by Robby (including Kurt "Raw Heat" Tortcher) with the DVD mastering revealing no compression artifacts (the visual bitrate hovering in the mid 6 Mbps range most of the time). The audio was presented in a 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround English (384 Kbps bitrate) with a minimalist leaning that seemed unique in most ways to productions outside of the Jack series, with the vocals always dominating the audio track as I like it.

Body of Review: Robby D. is a versatile director these days at Digital Playground, making gonzo, erotic, and comedy porn faster than most people can keep track of. Later this month, he will release another comedy title fans will appreciate in the form of My First Porn 8, the sequel to My First Porn 7. The series is a spin off from the Playground series where scammer Jack (played by Robby) gets women naked and frisky with the promise of music video work. In this series, he takes it one step further and puts his talents to the test as he deals with all the usual problems faced by porn directors from finicky performers, bitchy set owners, flakes, equipment problems and the myriad of issues that seem to proliferate in the industry. He makes the most of these situations and the amount of comedy clips seems in direct proportion to how often the problems impact Jack in real life. If you are a regular porn fan, the series will be particularly appealing to you with the cast playing along nicely before engaging in lots of heated sex. That the series always puts the sex first sure doesn't hurt either since the fun factor is often off the charts too. If that interests you, here is a brief glimpse into the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Velicity Von, a busty blonde wearing a colorful bikini only slightly covered by a blue fishnet top, was up first as she assisted Jerry the minuteman in holding off from popping too quickly. The joke was that he lacked staying power and his character took it all in stride as he was going to buy her a car for her assistance while they practiced a lot. Sophia might only do other women but with a smoking hot body like that, she can leave a snail trail on me anytime she likes and her gyrations before the camera were exceptionally hot. Scene Five: Lacie Heart, the other hotty contract gal (on the center to the left of Sophia of the front cover) in the movie, was up next with Scott Nails. I haven't seen many scenes from her since she joined the company earlier this year but she is another classic cutie in my opinion and well worth watching under the worst of circumstances, never mind one of Robby's high end productions. I hadn't noticed but by the time this one started, the movie was already over 90 minutes long, about the length of some of Robby's entire movies (making me happy it was only half over). Time might have flown but Lacie, playing a bitchy mainstream Assistant Director type, ended up doing the scene when Shay came late in a really late with a hangover. Lacie's ass hanging out of her short skirt gave her a lot of appeal too but her face was one of the most natural beauties you will find (that she was holding onto a script for Sophia Santi's Juice was funny too as Scott pawed her). Jack's persuasive manner at trading cash for gash worked wonders and she was soon appreciative of Scott's oral skills as her legs spread wide to accommodate his face on her crotch. I found the selection of cast to be really solid, their heated sexual antics to provide serious replay and stroke value, and the technical values to be better than average as the amounts of fuck for the buck transcended Robby's usual efforts by offering up over three hours of material. I would have liked better extras but even a cheapskate like me can see that the quality AND quantity of My First Porn 8 blew away My First Porn 7 and several of the others in the series, earning it a rating of Highly Recommended. In short, for a wonderfully amusing fusion of comedy and heated sex, this was one to look out for. It took a long time coming but was worth the wait; maybe this would be an area where DP's newest contributing writer could provide quality dialogue (ie: see my review of A Jungle Story) in the future if Nick and Joey are too busy with other projects. Good job though!
