Extras: Like most of the Shane’s World releases of late, there were some good extras with my favorite being the 37:12 minutes of Behind the Scenes footage. Extra drug use and some of the mini-dramas were all covered here nicely, making it enhance the value of the DVD for the target audience. If you're a stoner, you'll have a lot more reason to enjoy this one (just watch it already) than those of us that prefer more sex. There was a cumshot recap, a photogallery, and trailers to shows like Blazed & Confused 1, Blazed & Confused 2, Guide To Anal Sex, Girls Night Out 1, Girls Night Out 2, Shane's World 37, Shane's World 36, Shane's World, and Shane's World: Nerdz, too.

The opening credits were funny but true.

Audio/Video Quality: Blazed & Confused 3: Stoner’s Edition was presented in the same 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director Penny Flame (with some camera work and editing by Hambone Jones; AKA HJ) for release by Shane’s World. The series is supposed to look like it was shot by an amateur, something like many other Pro-Am series, and it did in virtually all scenes (though Penny is far too vocal to let me think she clammed up in the scenes she wasn't heard in). The lighting would wash out the fleshtones, the camera would lose focus, and the composition of the shots varied at times but the raw energy of the show remained intact as the series tends to be good at. The bitrate for the video track ranged a lot but seemed to hover in the lower 5 Mbps range a lot for those who care, with no compression artifacts noticed (even if some aliasing did appear at times). The 2.0 Dolby Digital English audio in 192 Kbps was decent but I didn't notice a lot of separation between the channels (the center channel provided pretty much all of the sound) and the dynamic range was about average for the series. The technical values in general were once again decent but a bit more work might have helped them in this last collaborative effort (Penny has since left directing for them after a contentious disagreement).

Body of Review: Penny Flame had tried her hand at directing for Shane’s World a number of times in the past, relying on her spontaneity and willingness to be herself more than show any technical skills. While traditional porn enthusiasts have largely pilloried these attempts as a huge mistake on the part of all involved, I found them to offer something different than the high gloss porn I review so often. The last fuck flick she made for them was the decidedly mixed Blazed & Confused 3: Stoner’s Edition, the sequel to Blazed & Confused 1 and Blazed & Confused 2. This time, Penny and Jack had a contest while traveling to Amsterdam to see the world’s largest pot convention. Lest it be said that I misled anyone, by this I mean they were not looking for culinary apparel but cannabis to smoke. The sex showed some heat and the antics of this duo reminded me of an old Cheech and Chong movie with sex in it, the joke being as much on how dopy the performers looked when blasted out of their minds. If you are still interested, here is a look at the scenes, noting that no condoms were used:

Scene One: Paige Ashley, a cute brunette seen on the upper left hand corner of the cover, was up first as she went back to the hotel bed of Jack Venice. They warmed up with some kissing and pawing, her jeans coming off as he tried to get some action off her. She was already juicy when his fingers took the initial plunge, his mouth savoring the liquid gold from her before she gave him a short hummer. That led, of course, to the couple vaginally screwing, Jack doing most of the work as she passively kicked back to enjoy the ride. She picked up the pace when on top of his lap though, bouncing with a sense of abandon that saved the scene for me. It eventually ended when he rubbed out a wad of population pudding to her mouth; the couple basking in the after glow of the action.

Scene Two: Penny Flame, the lead gal as seen on the upper right hand corner of the cover, was up next as she took home a couple of strangers to her hotel room from the pot convention. While one jacked off in the chair like a voyeur, Danny Mountain took advantage of her horny state of mind to tear into her sweetly offered pussy. He ate her, received her decent hummer, and the two screwed like happy little bunnies in numerous positions, the dynamic of the scene being a communication between two worldly stoners trying to make the world a better place. Penny was ablaze with sweat by the end of the scene and Danny seemed to be really happy at getting to sample her tuna; his load going all over the place as it flew from his cock hitting the TV across the room. They seemed to generate some chemistry between them in the process of recording the scene though, marking it as better than the opener for me.

Scene Three: Sahara Knite, an English gal traveling the world too, her bushy eyebrows revealing her identity on the lower left hand corner of the cover. She played with Penny a little but it was Jack Venice that enjoyed her wares all the more as the pair started screwing on the public transportation. Public sex is almost a trademark of the company so I cannot say I was surprised, though this time they were not cut short as their boat ride drew considerable attention from the locals like it would have been in most countries. The oral and vaginal sex was basic but the added spice of the location made it worth checking out, the catcalls left in for good measure.

I wondered if Penny knew how she looked when stoned?

Scene Four: Penny Flame, still competing with Jack to see who would screw the most foreigners, then took a guy named Jon on a little spree in a sex shop in the red light district. She picked out a DVD that starred herself and they went back to the crowded cubicle where they sucked and fucked each other like thousands of others seemingly do in the stalls. I would have passed given the likelihood that the sanitary conditions were less than safe but the couple made it real by projecting a sense of passion for the moment that is not often found in staged porn by more mainstream companies. The chemistry was a bit lower but the sparks still flew as the performers gave each a happy time, Penny staying well within her comfort zone as the two bumped uglies. He held her face to coat her “pretty freckles” with sperm, Penny never swallowing but always looking like she was having fun.

Scene Five: Savanna Stern, another stoner brunette, was up last in what appeared to be a scene tossed in at the last moment with Johnny Sins on the couch. While Savanna fits the bill of the stoner chick nearly as much as Penny, the scene lacked pizzazz and took on the roll of fleshing out a movie that was too short; adding little special to the show and probably the result of one of Penny’s fuck ups as a director. The couple had what amounted to mechanical, porn sex with sucking and fucking (vaginal only) but in their favor I had to admit that it was not bad to watch; lending a little replay value to the movie if not as much as some of the other scenes seemed to do. Savanna took the facial well at the end and some more convention footage played before the credits rolled.

Summary: Blazed & Confused 3: Stoner’s Edition by director Penny Flame for Shane’s World was far from the consistently spontaneous ride I had hoped for but it managed to scrape by with a hearty Recommended by being exactly what was advertised on the cover. It was fun seeing Penny at the pot convention looking nearly as much like a wide eyed fan going to their first 2007 AEE Show and it reminded me of happier times for Jack too. In short, Blazed & Confused 3: Stoner’s Edition was a decent ending to the trilogy started with Blazed & Confused 1 & Blazed & Confused 2; reminding me of numerous other cinematic trilogies that ended on a slightly weak note.
