Extras: For most of you, the five edited bonus scenes lasting 81:54 minutes will be the best extras. They included scenes from City Sex, Stood Up, Intimate Strangers, and two from Love Addiction; some of them described below. There were also trailers to movies like Chemistry 3, Debbie Loves Dallas, Hard Time, and Savanna Loves Sex, a photogallery, some spam, a text biography for Lanny Barby. Personally, I liked the 14:55 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Graham Crack Herr more since it was related to the actual movie though. There was more nudity, clips of the sex scenes, some interviews, and some footage of the setting up of scenes too.

Audio/Video Quality: Foreplay was presented in an anamorphic widescreen 1.78:1 ratio offering as shot by director O. Brian for Vivid Entertainment. This one was shot in HD, though presented in the SD format (for now) as shot in 1080i to provide a lot of resolution supporting some of the romantic effects. The lighting was reasonably well handled (with exceptions in a few of the scenes that had less lighting than needed to truly highlight the hotties), limiting the grain, video noise, and other distracting flaws seen all too often in porn these days; appearing to be nicely shot though the mastering or something caused the focus to be soft much of the time (and having seen Lanny up close and personal, her face can withstand the rigors of high definition photography really well). The composition of the camera angles and lighting were not always optimal this time, but the editing seemed to clean up any major mistakes (Mason on camera was a good idea given her recent work). The fleshtones were accurate this time (but for some saturated colors at times) and the DVD mastering was as well done as other company projects, making it look on the mid end in terms of visual quality (though perhaps the compression ratio was set too high as the bitrate was averaging about the mid 3 Mbps area); some aliasing noticed. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital offering (at 192 Kbps) with the vocals sounding flat and the music pretty decent thanks to Miles Long. There was no separation between the vocals but the music was competently handled by Miles, I just wish it had been less generic in nature.

Body of Review: Lanny Barby is one of my favorite contract gals working at Vivid Entertainment these days, even if her days are reportedly numbered. Summary: Foreplay by director O. Brian for Vivid Entertainment was not the best I have seen from the company but given my appreciation for Lanny, I ended up giving it a light Recommended. The amount of fuck for the buck in the movie was matched by that of the extras, though the unique extras were few and far between. In short, Foreplay was strokable and had some decent replay value with the usually fair technical matters, making it worth your time if you are into Lanny as much as I am.
