Audio/Video Quality: Jack’s Playground 36 was presented in 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Robby D. for release by Digital Playground. The lighting was reasonably solid here, as expected given this was Robby's standard type of gonzo, and that meant that the limited amounts of grain and other visual elements used to lend a sense of texture were minimal. The way the scenes were shot and edited was markedly similar in the scenes, though the composition of the angles was changed up a bit depending on the scene in question; sometimes using a POV angle before the sex took place. The composition of the shots and the editing enhanced the look of the ladies more than a little bit too, proving what this critic has to say about the production team led by Robby (who did all the camerawork to allow the talented Nick "The Wiz" P. the task of cleaning up the goofs with the editing and music this time; “extra special edits” by Joey and Kurt too) with the DVD mastering revealing no obvious compression artifacts (the bitrate varying but often staying near the lower 7 Mbps range). The audio was presented in a 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround (using 384 Kbps) with a minimalist leaning that seemed unique in most ways to productions outside of the Jack series, with the vocals always dominating the audio track as I like it. There wasn't much separation between the channels, if any, but aside from some whispered vocals by the men, the ladies were almost always clearly heard.

Body of Review: Digital Playground has evolved with the times, largely thanks to the extensive efforts by director Robby D. in recent years; the man pushing his unique style of gonzo vision to the accepting masses. With all the different series he is in charge of these days, it is easy to forget the flagship series of the bunch, the Jack’s Playground series where he scams the ladies into having sex as a way for them to get into music videos. The latest volume in the series stars sexy Sophia Santi and is the lucky Jack’s Playground 36, a set of scenes shot right after those from Jack’s Playground 35 that I reviewed earlier this year. Coming out next month, the show continued the adventures of Jack and friends as they made lots of unkept promises to the ladies with a nod and a wink; gals like Sophia never dumb enough to play along with the scammer theme of the series. If you’ve enjoyed the series in the past, there was a lot to like this time too, so here’s a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting no condoms were used:

Summary: Jack’s Playground 36 by director Robby D. for Digital Playground was not the best volume of the series but without a lot of low points or very high points, it still managed to wrangle a rating of Recommended out of me due to the levels of replayability, stroke value, and amount of fuck for the buck. The technical values were decent and the relative lack of extras that might have elevated the DVD lacking but not enough to kill the deal for me altogether. In short, Jack’s Playground 36, like Jack’s Playground 35, will be worth your time, money, and seed if you give it a chance.
