Extra's: The best extra was the 9:04 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Jamal Johnson (and the lead of the show) that starred Stoya (with weird music in the background) as edited by Drax. She showed how happy she was about working with Erik Everhard (for another movie) as well as those in this cast, even Dana coming across as pleasant as the cast was given some love. There was also a photogallery, a slide show, a pop shot recap from the scenes, a biography for Stoya, and three trailers to Pirates II, Island Fever 4, and Icon.

Audio/Video Quality: Stoya: Sexual Freak 7 was presented in the usual 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Celeste for Digital Playground. The high end equipment and skilled crew of regulars assisted director of photography Robby to make this release another gonzo love fest more than perhaps any of his collaborations with the director to date. In fact, the technical matters and editing by Kurt Tortcher aside, had this been presented to me under a “name that director” guise, I would have selected Robby for virtually every scene. The lighting was very solid here, reducing the grain, video noise, and other defects that sometimes arise in making porn on a budget. The way the scenes were shot and edited was markedly similar in the scenes; the composition favoring the ladies and looking like Robby had no constraints this time. The DVD mastering revealing no compression artifacts, with the bitrate for the visuals hovering around the mid to upper 6 Mbps this time with few flaws but not as low in resolution as previous efforts in related series. The audio was presented in a 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround English using a 384 Kbps bitrate; twice that of most porn made these days, with a minimalist leaning that seemed unique in most ways to productions outside of the Jack series, with the vocals always dominating the audio track as I like it. There wasn't much separation between the channels, if any outside of the intermittent music, but the ladies were always clearly heard here.

Body of Review: Stoya has been described by some in the press as a “force of nature” of late thanks not only to the limited scenes of hers that have come out recently but her entire manner of taking life by the horns and milking it for what it’s worth. Given the strength of her personality, imagine my gut feeling when I saw her next release coming out at the end of the month would be from director Celeste. While I’ve liked some of the director’s stuff in the past, it so very often relied on camera tricks, erotica styled action, and a host of other things I generally don’t like at Digital Playground, that I wondered if Stoya would make a difference when her next release, the upcoming Stoya: Sexual Freak 7, came out later this month. Having last seen the series in Sexual Freak 5, I crossed my fingers but the supporting cast had some pretty reliable people in it as well and the word on the street was that Robby was going to interject more of his own personality into the fuck flick so I braced myself for the worst and hoped for the best when the early screener made it my way. If you’re interested in the breakdown of scenes by cast and action, here you go; noting that no condoms were used and a lot of pleasant surprises were in store for me:

Scene One: Stoya, the darling of porn at the moment and hotty featured on the front cover, was up first in a scene with Charles Dera. He was her “pretty boy” captive, Stoya asserting her dominance over the guy as he was bound in the bed. She blew him less enthusiastically than I expected but well within the expected parameters of the scenario; the rough sex getting her off as they continued to work it for the camera. Hair pulling, spanking, and some really impaling riding by Stoya were all a part of the fine coupling here; the population pudding gracing her ass when he was through. By the end of the scene, my initial concerns about the movie were cast aside, proving Stoya’s love of sex took care of it all. On a side note, I’m told Charles has retired from porn and it wouldn’t surprise me if he claimed Stoya wore him out. Whew!

Scene Two: Riley Evans, a curvy blond built more like I tend to appreciate the ladies, was up next with Ben English and Jerry. Forgetting about how much she likes “Ben & Jerry” for the moment, Ben left and she went right to playing with Jerry who played her lover. They took the show to the bed and undressed, the oral barely getting underway before Ben came back in an angered state of mind. The tease wasn’t as good as in most of the other scenes since she kept her clothing on too long and the men interacted too much with each other but I give all of them credit for not playing it too strictly either. She blew them well enough and she received some oral as a reward before getting hammered like crazy by the men. Once the sex truly started, Dana shined as the pale skinned matron of alt-porn proved her oral skills were up to speed. She was probably the most passive cock rider of the show this time but given the vaginal and anal pounding she was taking, expecting her to impale herself as though into the action might have been too much to ask of her. In all then, Dana did a capable job and received her reward at the end of the scene; the wads coating her mouth as she made cat noises (meowing) before she swallowed them down.

Summary: Stoya: Sexual Freak 7 by director Celeste for Digital Playground showed once more that Stoya was indeed a “force of nature” as has been bandied about online of late. Stoya rocked in both of her scenes and the others did a decent job as well, if somewhat paling by comparison. The technical values were solidly in the “Robby does gonzo” quality area and the former quirks employed in Celeste movies were discarded in favor of this more appealing set of characteristics, making this lengthy flick well worth a rating of Recommended or better. Fans of Stoya should consider it a “must have” of course but ultimately, her scenes were the best thing about the movie and the others did not quite measure up enough to elevate the rating. In short, Stoya: Sexual Freak 7 surpassed my expectations enough that I will never doubt her abilities again. Good job!
