Audio/Video Quality: Jack's Redhead Adventure 1 was presented in 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Robby D. for release by Digital Playground next month, the standard definition version of the movie released using the MPEG-2 codec. The lighting was solid here, as expected given this was Robby's standard type of gonzo, and that meant that the limited amounts of grain and other visual elements used to lend a sense of texture were minimal. While I generally prefer flood lighting in my gonzo porn, Robby has a way of showing it all with less light, the tint of the colors only slightly off as a result and his Jim F. as a second cameraman (not to mention an uncredited henchman) in line with previous efforts in the series. The way the scenes were shot and edited decent, T. Baggs the credited editor of the moment. The composition of the shots and the editing enhanced the look of the ladies more than a little bit too, proving what this critic has to say about the production team led by Robby with the DVD mastering revealing no compression artifacts (the bitrate varying but often staying near the upper 6 Mbps range). The audio was presented in a 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround English (using 448 Kbps as the audio bitrate and a 48 kHz sampling rate for those who care) with a minimalist leaning that seemed unique in most ways to productions outside of the other Jack series, with the vocals always dominating the audio track as I like it. While there wasn't much separation between the channels, if any, the ladies were almost always clearly heard and their moans added to the enjoyment of the show.

Body of Review: Digital Playground was once known far and wide as a premiere couples company, their softcore features winning all sorts of awards but leaving hardcore lovers a bit limp so when director Robby D. was brought over from Vivid, no one batted an eyelash thinking he would eventually become a powerhouse gonzo director at the company. These days, Robby has his hand in almost all the releases of the company too, shooting the works of his gal pal Celeste and chugging cameras for main man Joone but of most interest to me is his own works where the pervert chases ladies all over the place using his "Jack" persona. For the uninitiated, Jack is Robby's fictional alter ego that always uses the promise of music video work to get a gal stripping and fucking on camera, occasionally sidestepping the concept for the fictional Teen America pageant or pretending he's a novice shooting his first pornos in the My First Porn series. As the company has expanded to meet increasing niche demands they have used his skills to offer big ass movies, big tit movies, and now are moving into another area new to them with Jack's Redhead Adventure 1, showcasing redheaded ladies having a lot of fun. When Robby was still in the planning stages of the movie, he could not stop talking about it and even in our own Xcritic forums, the demand for fiery redheads has been made clear so I took some time to check it out. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Faye Valentine, the cute redhead seen featured on the right hand side of the front cover, was up first playing a size queen in search of a big cock. Summary: Jack's Redhead Adventure 1 by director Robby D. for Digital Playground comes out at the end of next month and fans of redheads will have a lot of freckles and red hair to appreciate even if I found some of the scenes lacking. There was some stroke value though so I rated it as a Rent It, falling short of similar ventures by the company but at least offering an alternative. In short, Jack's Redhead Adventure 1 might be the start of a great new series if Robby can find enough hotty redheads to flesh out the ranks but I wanted more and the relative lack of extras didn't help either.
