Extras: The best extras were on the second disc of the set, specifically the 33:22 minute long Behind the Scenes feature. The cast was shown having more sex and there was more nudity with Mike showing lots more action in what were deleted portions of the scenes or what you could call POV footage with thankful ladies servicing the needs of Tim Von Swine to add some humor too. Granted, it was less strokable than straightforward sex but it did add entertainment value all the same. Audio/Video Quality: Jerk Off Material was presented in an appealingly clear 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Mike John for Jules Jordan Video as presented in the MPEG-2 format so common to standard definition titles (with 480i resolution). The lighting was pretty good, limiting the grain and other visual flaws in the open settings of the house but some of the scenes were not optimal, the slightly washed out look at times bugging me. The composition of the shots was largely enhancing so I'm sure Tim Von Swine (the assistant director/cameraman) should get some credit, I just felt the production had something slightly "off" about it at times with regard to the technical aspects. There were no major compression artifacts (the bitrate hovering in the 4.4 Mbps range most of the time) but the fleshtones were not what I expected them to be, making this one visually fair for me and not the best I've seen from Mike in the past. The 2.0 Dolby Digital English audio (in 192 Kbps with a 48 kHz sampling rate) was a bit more basic with no separation or major dynamic range but I could always hear what was said and the music didn't interfere with my viewing pleasure.

Body of Review: Mike John is one of the most versatile directors in porn these days, his works distributed by Jules Jordan Video to an appreciative audience of people that accept his eye for quality as being among the top names in the field. While many people still consider him the "Godfather of POV", Mike also makes a nice range of heated gonzo that is not tied to one specific niche, such being the case with his latest release, Jerk Off Material: Special Edition. The seven scenes lasted just under four hours and unlike many companies that pad the running time with fluff you can't use, this was not the case as the tease led right to heated action with the diverse cast strutting their respective skills for the camera.
