Audio/Video Quality: All Alone 4 was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director Mike Quasar for Third Degree using the usual MPEG-2 codec favored for standard definition releases offered up in 480i resolution. The settings were bare bone basic which allowed for fair lighting that minimized the grain, video noise, and aliasing of the visual elements. The down side was that there was a need for more lighting and a steadier camera. The composition of the shots was generally favorable to the ladies for the most part but the almost random editing seemed to distract at times when the camera would zoom in on some blemish or other visually weak moment and be left in the final product. The video bitrate varied considerably but seemed to hover around the mid 4.7 Mbps mark, few compression artifacts observed and the overall impression given to be favorable. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English using the 192 Kbps standard under a 48 kHz sampling rate (the lack of an optional Spanish dub track not bugging me one bit), the rare vocals showing no separation but the minimalist opening music giving the slight impression that it did matter to someone to add in some head space. The dynamic range was otherwise kind of limited but this being gonzo porn, I really did not expect a whole lot in that regard; my biggest frustration was the lack of dirty talk and vocals except the usual moans by the gals.

Body of Review: Mike Quasar is one of the most prolific directors in porn, his works for Third Degree and Zero Tolerance often showcasing some of the hottest ladies in porn very nicely indeed. Mike apparently gives the ladies a general overview of what he expects from them, the gals improvising to enhance their scenes in virtually everything he shoots (though some females are decidedly better than others at this aspect of his flicks). His latest title to make it my way was a double disc show called All Alone 4. The movie had twenty scenes of ladies masturbating while using toys from Evolved Novelties such as the Waterproof Silky G or Waterproof Desire, each gal giving at least the fleeting notion that she was getting off. For those of you that aren't into watching other guys (especially the same 5 or 6 that appear to populate almost all porn these days), you might find this a hot alternative to generic gonzo porn if you get past the use of music over vocals. The lack of genetic juice (or population pudding if you prefer) would then be considered a "good" thing, several of the ladies only doing other women so you wouldn't be missing anything in that sense anyway. The ladies included were Jana Cova, Julia Ann, Lisa Ann, Claudia Valentine, Mina Leigh, Rebecca Blue, Kimberly Kane, Evie Delatosso, Tory Lane, Alanah Rae, Stephanie Richards, Chayse Evans, Naomi Cruise, Lilly Kingston, Alyssa Reece, Erin Avery, Georgia Jones, Sochee Mala, Veronica Ricci, Diana Doll; lovely Jana and Julia looking as hot as they ever did under contract elsewhere (Lisa Ann, Tory Lane, and Diana Doll also making me warm up quickly).

Okay, the general dynamic of each scene remained the same; young hotty would come into focus wearing a bit of sexy lingerie, slowly and seductively enticing the camera as it panned across their body. The gals tended to maintain eye contact and were largely graceful, someone telling me that the magic of editing and post production work giving that illusion more than a few of the klutzy gals did when this was being shot. Their makeup was skillfully applied in a largely understated manner, forgoing the sloppy war paint so many other companies seem to think makes a gal look better, with the selection of lingerie enough to give even a jaded old porn hound like me a series of never ending chubbies as I watched the scenes.

To say each of the gals were made to look their best through diffuse lighting, excellent camera angles, and creative use of fantasy distraction would be fair though, the order of the ladies in the set being the following: Jana Cova, Julia Ann, Lisa Ann, Claudia Valentine, Mina Leigh, Rebecca Blue, Kimberly Kane, Evie Delatosso, Tory Lane, Alanah Rae (end of disc #1), Stephanie Richards, Chayse Evans, Naomi Cruise, Lilly Kingston, Alyssa Reece, Erin Avery, Georgia Jones, Sochee Mala, Veronica Ricci, Diana Doll. As far as differentiating the scenes in the movie as I usually do, I learned my lesson in the past that the minute differences between the scenes could almost all be chalked up to personal preferences (the thongs and lingerie the gals wore looked hot, the inside settings not usually detracting or enhancing the heat, and the technical values quite similar). There did appear to be some differences that were likely related to the length of time between the timing of the scenes (when they were actually shot, likely as supplemental scenes to other, full sex scenes shot for different movies) but Mike wielded his camera and editing work really well this time and I thought the overall effort was pretty solid in most ways.

The technical aspects all serving up a nice palate of eye and ear candy, what about the levels of heat displayed by the gals you ask? Well, in each of the scenes (which typically ran too short at around ten minutes long), the music was pleasant but disposable, allowing the plethora of pussy to strut their stuff on their own merits; typically showing a lot of warmth while they used hands, fingers, and toys to get off. I found it amusing to see some of the very high end toys from Evolved Novelties used in the scenes (the company owned by the same folks that own Third Degree) and hope they continue to provide gals on their sets with such toys given the cross marketing opportunities involved. There was no set manner for them to do any of this; there did not seem to be a specific amount of toy time for example, and I got the distinctive impression that Mike simply told each of the gals to masturbate to a climax (or three) rather than bark extensive, heat busting directions as some of his peers are known to do. The results were even better than before and the visible signs of the gals getting off (even the ones so in tuned with giving pornish styled performances) were plentiful. Each gal had a bit of a different approach too, livening things up but fans of this type of sex flick will be hard pressed to find a better offering at this point in time.

Summary: All Alone 4 by director Mike Quasar for Third Degree wisely started with beautiful Jana Cova and Julia Ann, both favorites of mine, and ended with blond babe Diana Doll with a great many attractive women provided their moment under the spotlight to appreciate. The technical values and amount of solo fuck for the buck translated into a rating of Recommended to me but only because the extras were so limited and I wanted more than I have seen from the series in the past. In short, All Alone 4 is a classic type of porn to enjoy while you yourself are "all alone" and ready to apply some hand to gland action to your own, albeit with some inspiration from these twenty diverse ladies.
