Audio/Video Quality: Control 10 was presented in 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Robby D. for Digital Playground in his Handheld Pictures line, using the MPEG-2 codec in the standard definition release with a 480i resolution. The lighting was decent here, about as good as expected given this was Robby's standard type of gonzo, limiting the amounts of grain and video noise. While I generally prefer stronger lighting in my gonzo porn, Robby has a way of showing it all with less light, the tint of the colors only slightly off as a result. The way the scenes were shot and edited was markedly similar in the scenes, though the composition of the angles was changed up a bit depending on the scene in question; providing a variety of styles to enjoy. My biggest compliant with the way the movie was shot was how one camera would look extremely stark while another would look very accurate in terms of the colors, guess which one got the most screen time? The composition of the shots and the editing enhanced the look of the ladies more than a little bit too, proving what this critic has to say about the production team led by Robby (thankfully, talented Nick P. was credited as editor). The DVD mastering showed no obvious compression artifacts (the bitrate varying but often staying around the 4.6 Mbps range when I paid attention) but this was not his clearest effort to date. This one didn't look quite as polished as his more recent titles but a quick look at the production date gave me the impression that this was shot quite a while back and looked much like the titles shot concurrently. The audio was presented in a 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround English (using an audio bitrate of 384 Kbps and the usual 48 kHz sampling rate) with a minimalist leaning similar to the Jack series, with the vocals always dominating the audio track as I like it. While there wasn't much separation between the channels though the ladies were almost always clearly heard and their moans added to the enjoyment of the show for those keeping track.

Body of Review: Robby D. and Digital Playground have been synonymous with quality productions for years now, their number of titles shot in high definition far exceeding those of any other company. In an effort to expand the horizons of the director, he formed Handheld Pictures, his sometimes quirky titles released under the label showing the world that he still has a few tricks up his proverbial sleeves. Coming out at the end of next month will be his latest epic, a movie called Control 10, the sequel to Control 9. As with previous volumes of the series, the casting was exceptionally high end with ladies such as Alexis Texas, Jenna Haze, Maya Hills, Priya Rai, and Cassandra Calogera strutting their respective stuff for the better part of three hours. The quick version of this review is that fans of the series will find it to be well worth waiting for so start saving your pennies for when it comes out next year. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Jenna Haze, the high end hotty featured on the front cover, was up first as she played a little game with Scott Nails. In short, the casting of Control 10 alone was as solid as that used in Control 9 but after Jenna finished her scene, the bright points seemed a bit less appealing, even as good as they were compared to lesser efforts. If you've watched the series evolve over the years, you'll know it was full of fuck for the buck and strokability, Robby coming through as the man with the plan with his devious twists and kinks so check it out next year when it hits the shelves.
