Audio/Video Quality: Stoya Scream was presented in the usual 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color as envisioned by director Celeste for Digital Playground in the usual MPEG-2 codec reserved for standard definition releases (shot in 1080 but down converted to this 480i presentation). This time, the visual presentation relied heavily on filters and post production work to achieve an old time film stock look to it, greatly reducing the amount of detail and resolution observed in the outing. Given the titular adherence to horror scenes, this might work better for some of you than it did for me, the lighting low enough to add grain too. Kurt Tortcher was the editor and he did okay with the footage provided him, some of the camerawork making it tougher to clean up but still better than earlier works. The DVD mastering revealing some compression artifacts; the bitrate for the visuals hovering around the mid 4.6 Mbps this time with few additional flaws in addition to the resolution. The audio was presented in a 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround English using a 384 Kbps bitrate and 48 kHz sampling rate; over twice that of most porn made these days, with a minimalist leaning that seemed unique in most ways to productions outside of the Jack series, but the vocals did not always dominate the audio track as I like it so your mileage may vary. There wasn't much separation between the channels, if any outside of the intermittent music, but the ladies were always clearly heard here.

Body of Review: Stoya is the award winning hotty so many fans have come to Digital Playground to see in the last year, her mere presence in a flick elevating sales substantially. As a result, she has won just about every accolade available, from the Xcritic new performer of the year to AVN, Berlin, Empire, and reportedly looking good for the upcoming XRCO. So any new title focused on her presence is guaranteed to be a hit on some level or another, next month bringing us Stoya Scream. In keeping with the series themes, there was an homage to spooky movies, the volume employing some post production work to mirror film stock in another attempt to try something new. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Stoya, the hotty featured on the front cover, was up first with curvy Alexis Texas, the two watching a movie before being stalked by Johnny Sins. The trio were soon laughing and kidding around, the ladies feeling each other up as much as him while they engaged in some oral foreplay. Johnny enjoyed the way they double teamed his cock but I preferred the manner in which they kissed each other more, Johnny giving head as much as he later received from what I could tell. Scene Five: Madison Ivy, a pretty blond with exceptional eyes, was up next slobbing the knob of Tommy Gunn on the couch. Madison is very thin and youthful for those that like that type, coming across as a stripper turned performer most of the scene. Summary: Stoya Scream by director Celeste for Digital Playground was another attempt at artistic expression that some of you will simply adore. Stoya was as lovely as always and the supporting cast included some very appealing ladies, the weakness of the inconsistent performances noted above but still enough stroke value to merit a rating of Rent It largely based on Stoya alone. In short, when Stoya Scream comes out next month, loyal fans of Stoya need to pick up a copy for their viewing pleasure, the amount of Stoya fuck for the buck quite high.
