Audio/Video Quality: Jack's Big Ass Show 9 Blu-ray was presented in 1.78:1  widescreen color as shot by director Robby D. for Digital Playground using the AVC codec in the high definition release with a 1080i resolution. As with most of his related "Jack" series, the approach used to record the scenes was one where the high end equipment (presumably this one shot before the current "Red" cameras Robby constantly brags about were in place) did not get in the way of the fun, the lighting not as consistently balanced as some of the company's more spectacular efforts but rendering enough light to minimize the grain, video noise, and compression artifacts. Robby has taken great care to infuse the technical aspects with his admittedly twisted humor once again, not always succeeding but making the effort (and it shows). The fleshtones were accurate and the camera angles seemed to catch most of the action quite well, my personal preferences of using some medium to long shots with regularity not typically catered to but the flick as a whole edited better than one might expect for this type of show (the closer you look, the better it will look in that sense, pretty much what I've come to expect from Nick P.).  The Blu-ray version was a nice upgrade visually, meriting a high grade from me worthy of praise even if the bitrate wasn't that high at times.  The audio was presented in a 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround English (using an audio bitrate of 448 Kbps and the usual 48 kHz sampling rate) with a minimalist leaning similar to the rest of the Jack series, with the vocals always dominating the audio track as I like it. While there wasn't much separation between the channels though the ladies were almost always clearly heard and their moans added to the enjoyment of the show for those keeping track.

Body of Review: Robby D. is one of my favorite directors and Digital Playground on my short list of preferred companies in porn these days, both surpassing their peers on a regular basis. While some try to increase sales by using circus act sex tricks, and others rely on sheer quantity of material using double disc sets, Robby and his employer see fit to try and provide an alternative form of entertainment, one fraught with humor and a lot of fun with serious consideration given to who gets to fuck whom. The latest in a long line of such movies will be coming out next month with Jack's Big Ass Show 9 Blu-ray, a tribute to ladies with large derrieres. One look at the front cover where ladies like Alexis Texas, Phoenix Marie, and Shyla Stylez were featured in all their ass-licious glory will tell you what the central theme will be. I've found a whole lot of heated sex in some of the previous volumes so I looked forward to checking this one out in this early sneak peek. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Summary: Jack's Big Ass Show 9 Blu-ray by director Robby D. for Digital Playground was a winner in terms of strokability, replay value, and levels of fuck for the buck thanks in large part to the excellent casting that centered on ladies with well rounded rumps so I rated it as Highly Recommended. Robby has long proven to have a knack for nookie and shows like Jack's Big Ass Show 9 have proven to be the best of the bunch as often as not. The mixture of seasoned veterans and new talent also helped provide some extra value this time, my only concern being the limited extras included (the problem mitigated by the lengthy movie itself).
