Extras: The every best extra was a bonus scene lasting 9:39 minutes between Dixie Daytona and Voodoo, the pair caught in the dressing room getting frisky after their primary scene had ended. She was nervous about getting caught giving out a freebie, the impromptu nature of it coming across as even more believable than the first given the manner in which Dixie acted. The rest of the extras provided little stroke value starting off with some spam (with cute Kayden Kross hawking the company's stuff), a handful of trailers and more spam, but the length of the scenes largely made up for it again, the BTS incorporated into the scenes themselves once again for those of you holding the company to strict adherence on what the box cover advertises.

Audio/Video Quality: Brand New Faces 20 was presented in the same 1.78:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color it was shot in by director B. Skow for Vivid Entertainment using the standard definition MPEG-2 codec (with 480i resolution). For those unfamiliar with his background, suffice it to say that his experience outside of porn is superior to many inside the industry and it shows up in his movies, though presented in the SD format (for now) as shot in 1080i to provide a lot of resolution supporting some of the effects (making it look more like a real movie than just a porno). The lighting was well handled and this added to the pleasure of watching the gals in play as the lengthy scenes gave them enough freedom to explore what was advertised as their first scenes (with a money back guarantee advertised on the back cover). The composition of the camera angles and lighting were almost always optimal here, Skow seeing fit to try and enhance the look of the five ladies at every turn as possible. The fleshtones were accurate this time and the DVD mastering was well done (in a bitrate hovering around 3.2 Mbps), making it a slightly mixed bag in terms of visual quality; leaning towards above average and showing some additional grain compared to the earliest volumes in the series. Some used to rail about the watermark on the lower right hand corner of the scenes but this was removed some time ago; my biggest complaint being that having reviewed one of the series in Blu-Ray last year, the standard definition follow ups seem a bit lifeless by comparison. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English (in 192 Kbps with a 48 kHz sampling rate) offering with the vocals sounding flat and the music pretty decent. For some reason, the levels were about the same as usual but aside from the added background noise, the dynamic range was average and the separation of the vocal track nonexistent.

Body of Review: B. Skow has been the driving force at Vivid Entertainment in terms of providing good looking porn in recent years; typically bringing something unique to the mix as he enhanced the performances of the ladies he shot for the company under so many sets of circumstances. His latest release is a continuation of his popular series of lengthy scenes called Brand New Faces 20; a movie dedicated to showcasing some lovely young ladies in their first scenes for porn and the sequel to the popular Brand New Faces 19 I saw recently. The porn industry is replete with gals claiming to be in their first scenes ever but the catch this time was the cover promising a "100% Money-Back Guarantee" that these were the first times the ladies were on film. Be that as it may, the cover also promised that the scenes were candid and given my experience with newcomers, I have long been surprised at how well Skow gets great performances so regularly. Again of interest to me was the fact that Skow's name again appeared nowhere on the cover either front or back, strange considering the award winning director is a major selling point thanks to his skill with the camera as well as the ladies. If you're still interested, here's a quick glimpse into the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used:

Hilo

Scene One: Audrianna Angel, the brunette on the middle of the right hand side of the cover, was up first as she described wanting to participate in porn, the naughty gal telling the director about her kinky side. She was wearing white Capri pants and a striped shirt, her firm little butt impressing Skow as he pawed her. The scene was shot on 4/14/2008 and despite her claim to not being a stripper, she undressed quite fast as she followed the series formula, the twenty year old cleanly shaven and possessing tiny, all natural tits. Once she was through masturbating on the couch, she crawled into the bed next door, Voodoo the lucky candidate to deflower her (though an abrupt edit seemed out of place as he went down on her). He ate her and she blew him, the knob slobbing showing she had some experience with a meat pipe in her mouth. She was not an active rider at first but Voodoo tore into her pussy as hard as he could, her moans driving him deeper to completion. Like most of the scenes, the sexual content lasted a long time, Audrianna taking the facial of genetic juice before offering some post coital head.

Scene Two: Melanie Jayne, the very attractive blond featured on the upper left hand corner of the cover, was up next as Minnesota native nervously laughed during the introduction portion of the scene. She was initially wearing blue jean shorts and a tank top, the flexible young lady revealing her 20 year old body as the stripper followed the routine. During the solo portion, she seemed to get off and even though she was stuck with Jerry as a partner, she appeared to be at home in front of the camera (even reading off her prepared list of acts/questions for Skow). While not a personal fan of porn, Melanie enjoys sex so she liked his going down on her a lot, her own oral skills well honed from years of working the guys in her life. While the scene played right through this scene on my home player, my computer became locked up around the 85 minute mark, perhaps this was where the layer change was or some other technical glitch, at least the movie continuing on the big screen. That said, Melanie seemed quite at home during the sexual antics of the movie, giving off a porn "vibe" if you will, with various vaginal positions showing her likes better than what she wrote on the certificate. The ending wad of population pudding landed on her tongue and in the mouth too, the cutie showing little aversion to semen gracing her tonsils (though also her shoulder, chest, and the bed thanks to her lack of aiming skills).

Dixie Daytona

Scene Three: Arianna Jay, the hotty seen on the lower middle of the front cover, was up next in her patterned t-shirt and tight blue jean shorts, her attitude pouring through the interview to show a wild child if ever the series brought one forth. She came across as such a professional performer to Skow that he made her raise her hand and swear the usual pledge about this being her first scene. Arianna was completely at ease here and her polished mannerisms struck me as those of a seasoned veteran too, the interview and solo portion of the action serving to showcase why the promise exists in the first place. The scene was shot last April too, the gal working one time since then under that name (but for another company). She was lucky enough to draw a ham out of the meat puppet drawing that must have taken place, winding up with Nick "dropping loads" Manning once she was on the bed, the guy downplaying his act for the show in a very understated performance. He ate her at length and she reciprocated very heatedly, showing some enthusiasm for Nick as she engulfed his rod orally. The vaginal screwing showed she still had a few rough patches to work out of her routine though, his thrusting a bit harder than she was apparently used to accommodating. Still, after several positions and some fine taste testing, her ability to take a facial was sealed with some spew.

Scene Four: Hilo, a cute brunette "girl next door" described her relationship problems next, the gal wearing street clothing over her all natural form. Her nervous laughter punctuated the entire scene here, the interview and solo parts more than the sexual conduct with Jerry. She gave her ex-boyfriend a shout and was soon allowing Skow to feel her "tight ass" up, the tiny booty in need of some loving the way it seemed so tight. At 21 years old, the gal appeared to be one of the older women in this volume of the series but by looks and actions alone, I'd have guessed she was just the most truthful. In any case, she wanted to suck Jerry off, his modest pecker looking gigantic beside her tiny face, the lady giving him her best shot as she tried to get more than a few inches inside of her mouth. She closed her eyes to concentrate and savor the experience, the majority of noise coming from Jerry's moans this time. He gave her some head in return too, leading to the moderately passive vaginal ride. At one point, I thought for sure he was going to tap her ass, the guy jamming his finger inside of her perfect pucker, but that never happened, the scene leaving that for another "first" she could sell later. Scene Five: Dixie Daytona, an outgoing babe as seen on the upper right hand corner of the cover, was up last and she was probably the most nervous of all the ladies in terms of doing porn for the first time. She admitted to being nervous and wore some dumpy clothing, the skirt longer than usual and the blouse as baggy as could be. She went through all the motions expected of her during the interview and solo portion of the scene but something changed along the way to make her stand out as special for a 20 year old; she developed a sense of personal chemistry for Voodoo. She admitted to the scandal of traveling to check out Los Angeles by way of Kentucky and Tampa, suggesting she wasn't going to tell her boyfriend when she got home. It was funny that she ended up doing a freebie second scene with the guy for the bonus section of the movie too, but in terms of the oral and vaginal sex, she was initially a bit cold. I found it interesting that Voodoo warmed her up so completely though, the passive riding moving to a more active role by the time they were done, the college dropout very fetching for the eye to see. Fans may also appreciate that she looked more than a little like retired performer Penny Flame, even doing some taste testing to close things out when she opened her mouth for the finishing mouth pop.

Summary: Brand New Faces 20 by director B. Skow for Vivid Entertainment was worth a rating of Recommended to me for all the action, the new faces, and the technical handling of the scenes but fans of brand new gals will think it was a "must have" since the ladies looked and performed their roles so well. I can't definitively state that none of them have shot a professional scene before but like so many titles that Vivid sits on for years as part of their marketing approach, Brand New Faces 20 was part of the disturbing trend to hold off on releasing the scenes, from what I gather due to the multitude of material Skow has shot ahead of schedule. Whatever the reality of the marketing claim though, all five of the ladies were breaths of fresh air and deserve some accolades for providing enough fuck for the buck, strokability, and replay value to make this a keeper for your collection. Skow does it again with his attentive nature to make these ladies shine better than his peers could hope to, the series website probably the best thing the company has provided in a long time in terms of consistent quality.
