Audio/Video Quality: Raylene Returns was presented in an anamorphic widescreen color with an approximate aspect ratio of 1.78:1 as shot by director Vince Vouyer for Vince Vouyer Unleashed using the MPEG-2 encoding and 480 resolution you would expect of a standard definition title. The lighting was flat and even most of the time (except some flare ups or stylish attempts at trying new things), still better than that which you'll find in most gonzo porn and topping a few of Vince's recent efforts. There was little grain and the fleshtones were even better this time making me think that the HD picture might look even better on one of the newer high resolution formats, but only by a small margin given the look of the ladies thanks to his fine work shooting the scenes (Jonny Grownwood on the editing board here) with the bitrate coming in around the 3.2 Mbps rate most of the time. There was some pattern noise but it was not common, the same holding true for some color saturation issues here. The composition of the shots was such that the ladies were made to look as good as Vince could make them and given his level of skill developed over the years, he showed he still has what it takes to make hot women even hotter looking but I hated the company logo used as a watermark in the lower right hand corner so often. The audio was presented in 2.0 Dolby Digital English (192 Kbps bitrate) but there was no separation between the channels and the vocals were on the low side in all but a few circumstances.

In short, Raylene Returns was one of those rare comebacks that actually worked thanks to both sides of the equation, the magic in front of the camera matched by the expertise behind it to make for an entertaining fuck flick.
