Extras: The best extra for those properly equipped will be an iPod-compatible version on the second disc. I don't have one and I'm told this version isn't quite as high in resolution as the movie on the first disc but it's a nice extra all the same. There was also an interesting 88:07 minute long Behind the Scenes feature where the cast & crew were given the chance to explain their roles with some interviews and clips from the show. There was then an 8:17 minute long set of Bloopers & Outtakes for fans to appreciate, a popshot recap from the scenes, and six short photogalleries as well as a true double sided DVD cover.

Audio/Video Quality: The Sex Files A Dark Parody was presented in a sharp looking 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen picture as shot by director Sam Hain for Digital Sin using the MPEG-2 codec with 480 resolution. The show looked more like the original television show when I didn't look too closely, the lighting altered in each scene to mirror the show more than flat lighting could ever do. There were very few compression artifacts and the video bitrate seemed to hover around the 6.3 Mbps, the fluid camerawork coming across like the show too; this being the first production by the company using the vaunted RED camera system that Digital Playground is always bragging about. This was a pretty good pornified version of the original show, the director wisely using Eddie Powell on a host of positions such as editing, special effects, and the like to enhance the final product. The company logo was always not present in the lower right hand corner with a light watermark this time so those of that wrote me about the issue can rest at ease. The SD audio was presented in a standard 2.0 Dolby Digital English with a 192 Kbps bitrate and 48 kHz sampling rate, no separation between the channels, a limited dynamic range, and music from the DeWolfe Library working well throughout the show. In all then, the show was a good send-up to a popular television show, the technical aspects enhanced to improve the creative material used to inspire your self-love habits as well as the replay value.

Body of Review: Digital Sin and sister company New Sensations have been at the forefront of the recent porn parody craze, offering a wealth of titles that decently pornify numerous shows as well as anyone in the industry short of X-Play (the current kings of the crop so to speak). Their latest effort is one of their very best offerings to date in this sense, breaking free of the "runner up" attitude displayed previously, in a title called The Sex Files A Dark Parody. If you remember watching the original show, you would know it is about a couple of government agents seeking out paranormal activities to find deeper truths, Skully the level-headed female and Mulder as the guy that wants so very much to believe in things otherwise unbelievable. Unlike others that ruin the entertainment value in their reviews, suffice it to say that as a card-carrying owner of the entire original series on legally purchased DVDs, this one gets my seal of approval with both Kimberly Kand and Anthony Rosano doing a credible job in the roles (with the plotted portions handled better than most parodies to date). The back cover described it like this: "Federal agents Dana Scully (Kimberly Kane) and Fox Mulder (Anthony Rosano) are sent to investigate a series of mysterious homicides. A common thread of the murders are the occult images and symbols found at the scene of each crime. With time against them, Scully and Mulder must solve the riddle that will eventually lead them to someone or something they have never encountered before. The truth is out that "The Sex Files: A Dark XXX Parody" is the hottest movie of the year! Suspenseful, sexy, awesome! Digital Sin presents a Revolution X film, "The Sex Files: A Dark XXX Parody" -- featuring Kimberly Kane, Anthony Rosano, Ashlynn Brooke, Audrey Bitoni, Evan Stone, Charley Chase, and more!" Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Aurora Snow, a curvy cutie long held as a plus in any show, was up first doing her boss at the agency headquarters, Rod Fontana. Yeah, he was twice her age or more and has a cock that is small by porn standards but be that as it may, he fit the role much better than usual. She unfastened his pants and dropped to her knees like a good secretary would, slobbing his knob actively using her hands in conjunction with her mouth to give him a great deal of pleasure. Scene Two: Tory Lane and Taylor Vixen were up next in a lesbian bedroom tryst, their tongues and fingers probing every nook and cranny available. The scene was provided as hotel room porn used to satisfy Mulder, the gals wearing traditional bra and panties that came loose quite fast as they orally attacked one another in bed. Tory was the dominant one this time and Taylor followed her lead, the couple getting each other off primarily by going down on one another as well as doing some extensive 69. I appreciated most that the two seemed enthusiastic and provided some chemistry together, the footage consistently shot well if a little too tight (too much close up material).

The Extras

Scene Three: Ashlynn Brooke, a foxy little contract performer and curvy Audrey Bitoni, were up next taking care of the Mighty Evan Stone, Audrey & Evan going to a local nightclub to pick up their prey. I wasn't used to seeing Ashlynn as a brunette but I did admire the way the manner in which the couple immediately started pleasing her in the club's back room, kissing and caressing her before Audrey ate her pussy. The ladies then double teamed Evan's pecker orally at his knees before taking turns riding him actively, the vaginal action handled very nicely. The lighting this time didn't work for me much here as it looked like a single spotlight proving unconvincing as either an alley (like I thought it was at first) or a back room, my later conclusion, though the sex itself was pretty warm outside the flow of the movie itself. There was more taste testing and screwing before he launched his load of population pudding onto their breasts, Ashlynn striking me as the better of the two gals.

Scene Four: Charley Chase, Anjelica Raven, Gracie Glam, Jackie Daniels, and Pike Nelson, were up next in a group grope (or near-reverse gang bang) where the ladies all teamed up to provide some eye candy whilst he was blown by Charley. It was during a satanic ritual used to bring forth an evil entity, the ladies caressing themselves and each other in between their oral attempts to get him off. The lighting was therefore necessarily lower than I prefer, the setting partially lit by candles. Initially, the scene was more erotic than about a quick bumping of the uglies too, devolving into a messy bit of oral and screwing courtesy of Charley Chase (her pubic patch nicely setting her apart). The other gals were not as well utilized but thanks to how smoking hot she was, they didn't have to be, the ending facial closing things up quite well.

Scene Five: Kimberly Kane, looking a lot like her mainstream counterpart, was up last in a bedroom scene with Anthony Rosano, the two working off the sexual tension built up (and elaborated on during the movie). She was initially demure as one might expect her character to be while he went down on her, the sweaty pair getting nastier as things progressed to bring out the wild side of the lovely gal. It was portrayed as a romantic moment between the couple, the vaginal penetration showing Kimberly as an active rider nonetheless, their playful enjoyment of the action fitting for the long held dynamic that helped push their characters in the original show. I think this worked better than if they were all of a sudden boning to blaring music with a rapid tempo as in so many weaker parodies, the ending spew rubbed out to her face with an eye shot.

Summary: The Sex Files A Dark Parody by director Sam Hain for Digital Sin was one of the best parodies I've seen this year, my anticipation of the high definition version able to take better advantage of the RED camera system footage assured. The leads and secondary characters did a capable job in the roles and the plot was tightly played well enough that it enhanced the replay value as much as the strokability, meriting a rating of Highly Recommended from this X-Files fan. In short then, The Sex Files A Dark Parody provided some solid entertainment value and much of it was due to the combination of Kane & Rosano's chemistry together as well as the technical wizardry of guys like Eddie Powell, elevating the bar by which I observe future efforts from the company substantially. Good work!
