Extras: This time, there were only two Behind the Scenes features but considering so much of the movie was shot alongside Not the Cosbys XXX Part 1, you can see more material for the production by watching that one too. The first one lasted 23:23 minutes and covered a bunch of getting ready stuff and Will selling other flicks in his series. The second part lasted 25:14 minutes and had more actual shooting of the movie (especially for part two). There were also four solo scenes (with interviews) shot for the movie, including a 10:05 one for Zeina Heart, 10:31 minute long one for Madison Scott, 8:48 minute long clip for Nicole Ray, and 8:40 minutes for Ashlyn Rae. Ten trailers and the director's promotional reel, and the intro menu replay.

The Title Page

Audio/Video Quality: Not The Cosbys XXX 2 was presented in a crisp, anamorphic widescreen using a 1.78:1 ratio as shot by director Will Ryder for X-Play Media. The resolution was 480 on the SD version of the movie and the codec employed was the usual MPEG-2. The bitrate on the feature tended to hover around the 4.1 Mbps mark when I spot checked it, the solid lighting making all the action clearly observable. One of the things many directors have trouble with is properly lighting sitcums or features, especially when they are going to be compared to mainstream projects such as this one, but this was not an issue this time, Tim Studley's lighting making it easier to shoot the scenes. There were very few visual elements that were not very much in tune with making the movie look mainstream and the DVD appeared to handle them very well. Scott David as Art Director and Co-Producer again elevated the title substantially, providing the proper counterbalance to Ryder's dedicated visions of the shows. The editing by Mark "Nick" Dawop at Copper Digital (AKA: "the sixth floor guy" who also handled a variety of other technical aspects on the movie once again) was as solid as ever, the end result in a class by itself. The audio was presented in the usual 2.0 Dolby Digital English using a 192 Kbps audio bitrate and 48 kHz sampling rate. The vocals were decently recorded with few moments sounding like they were dubbed or otherwise looped. The theme song invoked memories of the mainstream hit, adding to the fun, thanks to the director, Rock Hardon, Bone Her, and Chazzy for their contributions.

Body of Review: When Not the Cosbys XXX was championed by Xcritic and myself last year as the best the industry had to offer, there were many that scoffed and derailed the possibility that a movie centering on a black family could possibly win. I then pointed out that while other titles may have a wider appeal, the combination of factors that make a great movie were so handily offered up that director Will Ryder and X-Play Media earned it. I spent a lot of time convincing others that the movie worked on many levels and thankfully others agreed, the movie and cast winning almost all the awards possible. Well, as discussed last year, much of the sequel was shot at the same time, the director and his partner Scott David getting to fine tune and polish up the sequel to make Not The Cosbys XXX 2 even better. The movie played even more like an episode all pornified up and the cast seemed even more at home with their respective characters, Thomas Ward as "Cliff" and Tyler Knight as "Theo" once again proving to be capable of handling mainstream level acting. The others did a great job too but these guys came across as just what one might expect of adult versions of the two dimensional sitcom characters, the sitcum craze continuing for another year. Also worth mentioning was Misty Stone as "Denise" and Monica Foster as "Claire", but the best news of all was that the sex flowed even better with the plot this time, so I hope all the award companies start reserving space yet again. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Emy Reyes

Scene One: Misty "Denise" Stone, one of the biggest "finds" the director has made in recent times, was up first in bed with Eric Swiss, the lovely lass getting some oral love from the insistent man. Thomas Ward did a tremendous job and the entire cast appeared to throw themselves into the final product, making the movie one of the few sitcums that stands head and shoulders above the incredibly crowded pack. I've said this before and I'll probably say it again but there is no better company for making sitcum porn parodies, the runner up position a distance second given the often lackadaisical titles released by some of the biggest companies out there. In short, Not The Cosbys XXX 2 was a winner from beginning to end, providing superior fuck for the buck, technical quality, casting, and all the other factors that enhance a porno, the hard work behind the scenes certainly making it all happen. Great job!
