jaded. Either way, it sours the otherwise high points of the scene,
overall.

Bonus Materials

Additional footage featuring Nicole arrives by way of a
nearly nine minute Behind the Scenes segment, wherein she demonstrates her poi-twirling skills (a traditional Maori performance)
as well as preening for Dan pre-scene. Nicole dominates most of the
section, with a few preparation moments with Kitty and a few of the
other girls. Six Trailers are included (like minded Hustler titles), an eight minute Slide Show,

included, as well. And like most recent Barely Legal titles from the company, a "How It All Began" reeler is also tacked on, for those who like those sorts of soft effects

Audio/Visual Quality
The 16x9
enhanced picture (1.85:1 ratio) gains softness at a few junctures during
the feature, more due to director Dan's personal investment into the ongoing session (Ami's scene, especially) and losing himself in the moment. The color casts remain
on the slightly rosy side, though the temperature of the image
downshifts at points once Dan & his particular partner do the deed on the floor (just a
few shadows here and there, but nothing all too serious). A backing
music track does run semi-softly through most of the scenes, fading in
and out on occasion, but really just seeming like an attempt to break the monotony of some of the
nadirs in action (and all the easier to warm Stephanie's otherwise
cold stare, for instance). This does come in handy since Dan's camera
of choice tends to have a kind of creaking noise (digital audio tape?) at times,
so distraction is certainly the name of the slight-of-hand game. Otherwise, save the jacked angles here and there, a quite watchable
presentation, unless you're a purist.

Overall Thoughts
As he's shifted into the
world of hi-def, Dirty Dan is finally hitting a slight stride once
again, approaching an overall confidence that kept his earlier
entrants into the series so incredibly satisfying. The girls, however,
do sometimes get the best of him, causing him to err in his self-imposed camera duties but still
keeping the party going, nonetheless. And those girls do reiterate their
barely legal status, oftentimes coming off greener in more ways than
one (Miranda's oral stumbles and Nicole's swallowing allergy). However, when it does
all come together (i.e. with Ami and her bodacious boobs, or Kitty
and her likewise set of jugs), it's wholly great, and with that
continuous push and pull of quality, I can only recommend that you Rent It before laying
down the cash, as all these variations in approach may or may not be your tipping point for this beloved series. While the earlier volumes
were simple and direct in execution, Dan's arsenal of new production tricks may not
appeal to everyone: hurdles or not, it's still pretty darn good fucking.
