Preview  Women Seeking Women would not be on its 93rd volume of stories depicting restless hearts searching for that one perfect woman if they weren’t doing something right.  Girlfriends Films is actually doing quite a few things right with the longest running and most successful series in lesbian erotica.  When filmmakers striving to present the most realistic sex engage gorgeous performers, and maintain a strict attention to high production values, quality skinema is the result.  Recipient of five consecutive AVN awards for Best All-Girl Series, Women Seeking Women is the longest running and most successful series from Girlfriends Films.  I recommended WSW89 a while back, and decided to check in on things.  Eager to see more of Jelena Jensen, finding her paired with the always electrifying Sinn Sage made WSW93 an easy pick. Why those two aren't on the cover is a complete mystery.   If you're looking for bodies, the selection is a bit limited.    There are petites, slims, a MILF, and classic porn-barbies.  Breast lovers will be pleased with Madison Ivy and Brandi, and Jelena, while ass afficionados, like myself, have Sinn to ogle. All four of the scene pairings were successful in depicting sapphic encounters that ran the full gamut from tender to torrid.  Here are four scenes of women one-on-one, exploring each others' bodies and emotions...

Overly talkative lead-ins are a common criticism of some Girlfriends films, but the set-up for the first three scenes presented a believable storyline in about 8 minutes.  Madison Ivy is a pretty brunette, whose petite figure is topped off nicely with more than ample (augmented in 2009) breasts.  Heather Starlet's blonde hair frames an athletic figure.  Madison Ivy drives the seduction, going with the tried and true "massage" offer, but Heather eventually takes over and controls the action in a good opener.  The pacing seemed natural, not hurried by the director or cut up by the editor.  Heather and Madison seemed to enjoy exploring each other.  Heather's fans will be satisfied, and every fan will probably be on the lookout for more from Madison.

Charlotte Stokley was a pleasant surprise in Net Skirts 10. The slim blonde's young, innocent appearance is all show.  She is a veteran of 5+ years in the industry and her scenes are nothing near innocent.  Her partner here is the relatively new Alannah Monroe.  I couldn't find any DVD filmography for her, only a few web scenes.  In this second scene, Charlotte plays the instigator, inquiring about Alannah's illicit desires and eventually offering understanding of the physically intimate kind.  The dialogue was smooth and the transition to sex was believable.  The ladies seemed to enjoy pleasing each other, but probably could have gotten more done if they hadn't been on a child's bed.   The tender nature of the girlplay matched the exploratory tone of the lesbi-curious intervention scene opening.  Great GF debut for Alannah!

Then, the payoff for the introductory snippets comes in the form of Brandi Love, the salacious MILF getting together with the young and curious Dillion Harper.  Brandi Love has a phenomenal figure for a woman of 40 years, so it's no wonder a hot young lady like Dillion would be interested in getting to know her a little better.  This scene is typical of what GF has come to master.   The older/younger dynamic has worked for the studio time, and time again.  The pairing of Brandi and Dillion is no different.  Brandi takes her time, respecting her new friend's hesitation, until  the wall finally falls and it becomes an erotic free-fo-all.  While Brandi may not be as young as her co-star, she certainly is a match in terms of sexual energy, as such the two had great chemistry, making the scene a joy to watch.  There were multiple believable climaxes on screen, and there should be some in the screening rooms as well. Dillion has some pretty prominent tan lines, for those who are into that.  This third good scene makes WSW93 a gem of a disc.  There is no possibility of the last scene being a letdown.

WSW 93 has a grand finale.  Sinn Sage is like Snickers; always satisfying.  Jelena Jensen is a statuesque, dark-haired beauty with perfectly placed curves who has been on my personal hot list for about 6 months now.  This scene was set-up with Jelena as the heavy, which I thought was unintended comedy.  OK, Ms. Jensen, you can be all kinds of bitchy and demanding, but that's Sinn Sage, she will take you down.  So, I watched the scene waiting for "the flip" when Sinn would assert her les-dominance.  That occurred about 15 minutes into the 43 minute scene, when Jelena's bra came off and Sinn was unleashed.  I can wholeheartedly commend the acting here; in and out of the bedroom, it played more like reality TV than innuendo filled porn-speak.  This scene was a good one; the film's best, despite any major fireworks.

Final Thoughts

A good flick that exceeded my expectations and actually has me interested in the development of things to come in the series. In the movie’s first scene, busty brunette Madison Ivy welcomes young, but experienced Heather Starlet into her bed and between her legs.  Volume 93 cover girls Charlotte Stokely and Alannah Monroe keep things popping with fireworks between the sheets in scene two.  The third scene features the bootylicious MILF Brandi Love making sweet Dillon Harper giggle and gush.  In the final scene, lesbian porn icons Jelena Jensen and Sinn Sage show off their oral skills to conclude the movie.

This movie should and could have been an XCritic Collector's pick, but Girlfriends Films continues to be lazy or stingy when it comes to bonus DVD materials/extras.  Add in a photo gallery, BTS segment and a bonus scene from the GF archives and WSW 93 would get the highest possible rating.  Instead, it's stuck with Highly Recommended.  The moral of the story is, add extras, they enhance the viewers sense of value without harming the producer's bottom line.
