Room 69 looks good in this 1.78.1 anamorphic widescreen transfer though quality does very a bit from scene to scene – in fact, parts of it looks to have been shot intentionally soft, for artistic effect. There aren't any issues at all with compression artifacts or edge enhancement while color reproduction looks okay even if and skin tones are way too orange. The movie is well shot and benefits from good lighting and strong production values.

Sound:

The sole audio track on this DVD release is a Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo Surround Sound mix in English. The audio on this release is fine. Dialogue stays clean and clear throughout and the levels are all properly balanced. The score sounds good and there aren't any problems with background hiss or distortion at all. The audio here won't blow you away but it certainly won't disappoint you either.

Extras:

Outside of a static menu offering chapter selection, the disc includes trailers for a few other Vi Thomas/Girlfriends Films releases available on DVD… and that’s it.

Final Thoughts:

Room 69 is a solid couples film. Though it has no plot and is light on setup, in each scene we see the guys give as much as they get and the girls do the same. There’s a partnership in each of the five vignettes in which the performers do equal time giving and receiving pleasure and they all seem quite into what they’re doing. The feature is well shot, the locations are nicely lit and attractive enough and the sex seems nice and natural without ever losing points for breaking from the fantasy angle that it works to establish. The DVD is disappointingly light on extras but it looks and sounds good. Recommended.
