Audio/Video Quality: Hollywood Babylon was presented in anamorphic widescreen as shot by director Dana Vespoli for Evil Angel. The visual elements showed artistic touches, there was enough lighting and steady camera work to pull it all together nicely. There was a company watermark on the lower right hand corner of the screen but it did not bother me nearly as much as it seems to bug some, just keep that in mind if this is an issue for you. The aural components of the show were basic and not overly distinctive but I could hear the cast going at it, whispering sexual comments toward one another and otherwise providing some ear candy worth listening to.

Body of Review: Dana Vespoli has tried to stand out as something different in her works for Evil Angel, the hardcore action certainly different from what she directs elsewhere. Her latest flick as director for the company is the upcoming Hollywood Babylon, a story told largely by sex scenes and little exposition, starring hotty Sovereign Syre doing men for a change. Sovereign is the sexual lead in four scenes and participates lightly in the last, the surprise ending another time when Dana’s sense of creativity comes out of the woodwork to surprise us all. I’m not going to ruin the feature aspects or story here, only idiots do that, but suffice it to say that this will be talked about for some time to come for a number of reasons and is a “must have” for any of Sovereign’s fans.

The company website described the movie like this: “Ambitious, slightly twisted pornographer Dana Vespoli presents "Hollywood Babylon," a real movie with sophisticated production values and a sinister mystery story framing intense, kinky sex scenes. Voluptuous Sovereign Syre plays an aspiring actress being chewed up by the film industry's brutally self-serving players. James Deen is a ruthless producer; Steven St. Croix is creepy even by the standards of plastic surgeons. Sovereign bounces from Deen's casting couch to a freaky "family" relationship with St. Croix and Dana DeArmond (as the good doctor's wicked wife). She joins Ramon Nomar and stunning Italian beauty Valentina Nappi in a lewd threesome and gets down with Ryan Driller on the beach. All this leads to a nasty, climactic orgy in which James thoroughly manhandles and sodomizes Ms. DeArmond, who joins cigar-puffing St. Croix in dominating and abusing our heroine. Wrapping around the scenes are eerie clues to a mystery unfolding around some unusual "usual suspects."” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Sovereign Syre, the cover gal with a lengthy sun dress on and flowers in her hair, was up first with sleazy James Deen. She sat on the bed beside him in a red slip with the orchid from the cover in her hair, the man dominating her more deeply than James had as he had her undress him and pull him in for a kiss, her juicy ass standing out nicely in the tight outfit. Summary: Hollywood Babylon by director Dana Vespoli for Evil Angel earned a rating of Recommended from me, the levels of fuck for the buck, strokability, and replay value enhanced by Dana’s unique look at the world. In terms of the feature elements, I have to say that Dana likes to stray far from the beaten path so that might be good news or bad news for you depending on your personal taste in such things, the bottom line being that fans of her work will need this one when it comes out and it amounts to a “must have” for those who appreciate Sovereign Syre even a little bit. In short, Hollywood Babylon was a showcase for light BDSM themes and Sovereign Syre’s first on camera scenes with males, Dana’s creative story telling via sex scene and limited story elements again bound to make waves so check it out.
