Audio/Video Quality: Deen Vs. DeArmond was presented in anamorphic widescreen as shot by director James Deen for Evil Angel. The footage itself was shot by James, Dana DeArmond (at times), and talented Nate Liquor, James sometimes setting the camera down like his peers have taken to (ie: the Raw series comes to mind) but for the most part, each scene was shot somewhat differently, one of them lacking enough light to keep the colors from being overly saturated and dark, another in a brightly lit living room where the flesh tones washed out a bit, and no specific style deployed throughout. The positive aspect of all this was that James spent more time concerned with the energy developed over the years between him and Dana, the pair among the most entertaining people you could stick together when they start hamming it up and playing off each other. Their enthusiasm never waned and while the bit rate may have waivered at times, the technical aspects looked good. James handled the modest job of editing and there was always a company watermark in the lower right corner but it was rarely noticeable. The audio components were taken from the microphone built into the cameras as best I could tell, little separation of depth of field provided though the vocals could be easily heard even when they whispered to each other. The music by “Wolfpac” grated a bit, the kind of urban hip hop that went out of style some years ago, but it was not continuous and was mixed well with the vocals.

Body of Review: James Deen emerged from a crowded pack of newcomers some years ago, his boyish looks and goofy sense of humor making him the perfect choice to star in a variety of parodies before he showed he had a hardcore side as well. Now, he directors for Evil Angel as well as serves as a popular meat puppet, his upcoming Deen Vs. DeArmond a major departure from his ongoing “7 Sins” series deploying so much artistic style that some wish he’d turn it down a few notches. In this case, Deen and DeArmond are perfectly matched for each other sexually as well as their improv skills when they ham it up, feeding off each other’s energy in a way that few in porn can do nearly so well, a lot of goofy humor used in the trailer taking advantage of their near perfect chemistry together. Joining them was Ash Hollywood and Jenna Justine but let there be no doubt about it, this was definitely a D & D show all the way. Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:

Scene One: Ash Hollywood, a very sexy blond hotty, was up first as both Dana DeArmond (the brunette on the front cover) and James Deen (also featured on front cover), took turns with her. Dana was dressed in skimpy bikini undies and Ash had on some black booty shorts with a tank top, the opening portion of the scene using a gimmick to allow both the leads to grab the young lady to molest her. DeArmond by director James Deen for Evil Angel had a lot of hardcore gonzo sex including anal, pushing limits, lesbian, and over the top antics that a general audience is unlikely to appreciate but it also had the kind of perverse humor one associates so much with both leads that I couldn’t help but like it more than some of their other works so I rated it as Recommended. Make no mistake though, if you are a fan of Dana or James, but especially both of them together, this should be considered a “must have” for your collections, their chemistry as solid as that showed by James when he used to work with Joanna Angel a few years back. In short, Deen Vs. DeArmond did not try to be all things to all people, relying heavily on the energy and enthusiasm both Deen and DeArmond have when working together to form a chemistry filled fuck flick that had some replay value and strokability so give it a look when it comes out later this month.
