Audio/Video Quality: Top Notch Anal was presented in anamorphic widescreen as credited to director Mike Adriano for Evil Angel. Using Claudio Maestro as his cameraman, Mike got to participate in every scene, the clarity of the picture tied in large part to the abundance of lighting and steady camera work, the flesh tones accurate and framing of the action well done. There was some minor aliasing and I noticed a moderate number of compression artifacts when playing this on a large screen television, but as a whole it conveyed the heat of the action quite well, the company watermark on the lower right corner present as always. The stereo audio was presented in AC3, the codec using a sampling rate of 48 kHz and a bitrate of 192 Kbps. The vocals, especially by Mike, were very clear and there were few ambient noises, the amount of separation or dynamic range minimal but not a vital component of a gonzo fuck flick to most people.

Body of Review: Mike Adriano is a director well liked by the majority of the XCritic reviewing team, his titles for Evil Angel always in great demand. His next title coming out is the upcoming Top Notch Anal, the movie differentiating itself by using high end hotties doing anal rather than Mike’s usual love of newcomers or those new to anal. As such, he deploys likes including Romi Rain, Anikka Albrite, Aidra Fox and Jillian Janson, each recognized as a popular performer for one or more reasons. These are all new scenes and advertised as having “100% anal in every scene!” which to me means no vaginal sex (and has been argued no blowjobs or other tricks by default) though realistically it usually means that every scene has some anal, a semantic issue you can use to adjust your personal rating as you see fit. I was mainly interested in seeing Anikka and Romi but the others have their merits too, the end result a bit mixed. The company website described the movie like this: “You’ve got to start at the bottom to get to the top! I would disagree with the advertised comment about 100% anal since there was a broader variety of action and some were markedly more at ease with Mike’s tongue or turgid pecker in their ass than others but for the most part, fans of anal should consider this title to merit a rating of Recommended and adjust it according to their own criteria, Romi Rain and Anikka Albrite clearly leading the pack but Aidra and Jillian sure to please their fans by looks alone so check out Top Notch Anal when it comes out and let me know what you think.
