The scenes feature solid performances, something Asa fans have come to expect. It all fits squarely in the “hardcore porn” genre, but her romp with ex-husband Tony Ribas gets a little rough. It’s OK though, she really gets off to it.

Asa Loves Cock falls flat on special features. All you get from the DVD is an unimpressive photo gallery. Worse, the photos are far from glamorous. Some are blurry and others look more like a bad screenshot from the DVD.

This is a gonzo porn film, so there’s a lot of camera movement. The downside of that gonzo style is that it can come off as amateur in production. Discerning fans are bound to spot wires, random nails, pillows and other elements of lackluster set design. And the lighting falls flat too. Let’s be honest. While story is nice, the primary reason most people watch porn is for the sex, and this movie cuts right to the chase.

It feels like vintage Asa Akira. You’ve got this stunning and vivacious woman who owns every moment, turning sex into divine performance art. She’s a whole rock and roll band wrapped up in a fit feminine body fully energized, realized and sexualized for your viewing pleasure.

With that many switches, you’d expect each posture to feel short-lived, but it’s not. Transitions are natural and Mr. Young shifts Akira into all sorts of intermediate positions between the traditional porny ones. Asa Loves Cock is a pleasant surprise. As a seemingly random compilation of four gonzo scenes, it’s not the sort of thing that stands out, but the film is better than expected.
