I enjoyed the Behind the Scenes feature the most but the commentary track was pretty good too. In both, Robby trash-talked flaking performers and offered insights to the wonderful world of porn. In the BTS, all the characters were introduced and certain technical matters explored. I just wish the feature looked as clear as much of the BTS did.

Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in 1.85:1 ratio widescreen color. The picture had too much grain and the colors were too saturated. Otherwise, there was some video noise but minimal artifacts. In the commentary, Robby talked about wanting the saturated look but I'd prefer a cleaner picture. The audio was in Dolby Digital 5.1 English. It sounded good, with an interesting music track and clear vocals.

Body of Review: I've watched some solid features in porn of late. One of the companies that make good movies with a plot is Digital Playground. Having watched No Limits by Nic Andrews and Sinful Creations by Robby D. (it was his second movie for the company), I knew going in that their latest release, Beat The Devil, would likely be a lot of fun to watch. The movie centered on a guy, played by Eric, who had made a deal with the devil years prior. He found out too late that the Devil had cheated him (isn't that always the case?) and wanted a better deal. Thus begins our adventure into the latest blockbuster from Digital Playground. The women were hot, especially the lovely Jesse Jane in her first scene with a guy (she had two of them here, YAY!), and only one of the scenes could be classified as "filler". Here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast:

Scene One: Angel, the tall blonde from England, took on Eric in a warm scene. The sex was oral and straight only but the two shared some chemistry and heat. She's been in a lot of ultra-hardcore gonzo porn lately so fans may want to see her in what amounts to a more typical scene.

Scene Two: Monique and Jana, a couple more hotties with lean, curvy looks, did each other in front of Eric. If you like watching blondes lick and rub each other, you'll like this one too. Those who don't like lesbian scenes with impossibly large toys will rejoice that this was strictly tongue and finger only. Yum!

Scene Three: Felecia, a real cute brunette with long kinky hair, and Eric, had a scene at a bar. After a fair amount of foreplay, the two went at it while Tim whined at Eric. The scene was limited in that it didn't show the actual sex. While it fit the plot, it wasn't great sex, and that limited its value for consumers. As an interesting side note, Tim and Felecia are married in real life. Maybe if he took over to show Eric how to do the job correctly, I think I'd have liked the scene.

Scene Four: Jesse, the blonde bombshell on the front cover that hailed from Texas, took on Evan the super stud, in this smoking scene. This was her first "boy/girl" scene (first shown, the following was her first filmed scene with a guy) and if it's any indication of her future work, I think Digital Playground needs to start hiring more directors to get her working more often. She's the gal on the dvd cover with the whitish blond hair, the flawless skin, the awesome DSL's (dick sucking lips), and the sultry eyes to go along with her high level of energy. Her critics suggest she's fake looking, due to the implants and hair, but if you like the "porn superstar" look, she'll be on your mind for a while. The sex was full of chemistry and energy and I liked her finishing him off (a pet peeve of mine is when a guy needs to jerk off to finish in a porn movie). Yum!

Scene Five: Jesse, in what was her first filmed scene, took on Mark in yet another smoking scene. There was very energetic oral by both of them and when the boning started, they both let loose. Her dirty mouth and willingness to embrace her passion (as compared to the company's former contract gal, Tera Patrick, who was a cold fish) was more than he could handle. Whew!

Summary: The two scenes with Jesse really rocked, the lesbian scene was very warm, and Angel was her usual hot self so there was some solid sex going on. The plot was minimal but cute and Evan's over-the-top performance as the Devil was funny. The entertainment factor was high which was obviously what Robby was looking for in the movie. To sum it up, Beat The Devil was a winner for any fan of Jesse Jane. Watch for more of this young star since she's a total babe that made me drool. As such, I'm giving this one a rating of Highly Recommended but if you don't like Jesse, it'll only be worth a rental. Watch out for Jesse though, she's poised to take the porn world by storm.
