Best New Adult Performer 2008 - Stoya
When selecting the top newcomer of the year, there are many factors to be considered beyond the usual involving beauty, sexual performances, and general attitude. One of the biggest that come to mind is how the performer impacted others as well as how involved they were with reaching out to fans in a manner that personalized them to a degree, not just relying on public relations campaigns or spin doctors to suggest why they were the top of the food chain. There was some debate with regard to specifics and many of the team had their favorites but when all the factors were added in and weighed, the runaway XCritic Best New Performer of 2008 was Stoya.
Moving out of the fringes at the end of last year, Stoya's unique qualities were hailed by our own Don Houston as something special, calling her a "force of nature" even before her roles in such hits as Cheerleaders and Pirates 2, a slew of showcase titles bearing her name proving Don was not alone in his assessment. While we fully expect even more of the lovely Digital Playground contract starlet in 2009, her various accolades from the Venus Berlin show, numerous online organizations, and the likelihood of her winning not only the AVN nod but that of the XRCO too, supports our collective belief that Stoya's message of enjoying sex and offering a positive role model for others to follow earned her this honor.
